BLUING SOLUTION CLEANER Reviews & Ratings

Modern hot bluing solutions (such as Oxynate No. 7) are often replaced before their chemical activity is depleted because of accumulated crud in the tank. This crud includes depleted chemicals which are staying suspended in the bath, airborne dirt particles and the residue from inadequate cleaning/rinsing. Industry uses expensive and complicated filters to remove this crud. To use our Bluing Solution Cleaner, first add it to the cold bath, stir well as the bath heats, and then skim the bluing bath thoroughly when operating temperature is reached. Your bath will be returned to a clean, trouble-free operation. Plus, the cleaner stays in solution instead of being 'used up', so the crud keeps right on coming to the top for easy skim-off. Will remove blueing from a firearm

In the AGI video on Parkerizing, Gene Shuey uses Blueing Solution Cleaner to remove blueing from irregular surfaces...it did a great job in the video, removing blueing from a pistol in seconds. Brush on, rinse, neutralize in baking soda and water (the cleaner is an acid and needs to be neutralized), then rinse again. I haven't tried it yet...I'm just getting into metal refinishing...but I have an old Colt Police Positive Special that I'm going to try it on. I'll report back with my first hand experience.

Functions as advertised

Properly used, it not only cleans the bath but throughout use, the crud floats as a frothy mush, easliy picked off the top with a screen spatula. I cut a pc. of 4x4" stainless screen and wired it to the handle of a fly swatter, makes a perfect crud-picker-upper.

Just the ticket

This product is perfect for shops that do a lot of bluing and maybe even blend their own chemicals. Rather than dump the tank and a bunch of cash use this stuff! Cut my operating costs considerably.
