A perfect general maintenance kit
This is a very good general purpose kit that has nearly all of the tools I need to do "basic" firearms maintenance on my rifles, revolvers, pistols and shotguns. I added a BROWNELLS allen wrench set, tweezers, and three additional Magna-Tip bits specific to S&W revolvers. It's perfect for the person who doesn't have a dedicated workbench--stows easily in my hall closet. Only one minor issue. The bits in the Magna-Tip kit are not all the same length--some are very short. Consequently, when you pack everything up and lift the nylon carry bag, the small bits fall out of their receptacles and end up in a pile inside the plastic Magna-Tip box. Solution: I went to a crafts store and purchased a small sheet of 1" thick open cell foam. Then cut the foam so it fits perfectly inside the lid and covers the bits (but not the bit handle) and around the rectangular compartment in the removable tray (see photos). I just stick it in the lid and close. Works like a champ! Now all the bits stay put. The only items I may never use in this kit are the metal file and India stone--if it needs that kind of work I'll take the firearm to a professional gunsmith instead. My first task with this kit was to center the roll pin at the bottom of a revolver's butt so I could install an aftermarket laser grip using the hammer and included armorer's block.
Great Kit
Not cheap but several hard to find tools included that would take you a while to put together. Bag holds all very well and even though there would not be slots for extra tools there is extra room to add them. I went ahead and ordered the largest Magna screw driver set separately since it fits in the same size box and will use the included one for the "around the house" tool bag. In my case I will added a few Glock specific tools and their was even enough room to add two of the "Glock Emergency" repair kits available from several venders that includes major spare parts. So now all the fix it stuff is in one location. The only thing that might be useful would be an outside pouch but obviously that would add to the size. Great little kit.
Great value kit
Great tool kit for the money, very useful for basic firearm maintenance. Great quality, but when I got the kit i was short one of the bits and contacted Brownells. They responded the next day and had the bit shipped that same day. Great product and great customer service.
Great kit for money
Compared to other tool kits here, this is the best one for the money. It's a great "starter" kit. Of course you can always add to it (another stone, file, flashlight, etc) but it has everything you need to get going. Very happy with the kit, and added up individually (which I did) comes out more expensive.
