Great oversized pins!
Great Kit…
Best price around for SI proven parts. Like that it has just the parts I want in kit, no extras I didn’t need. Brownells is hard to beat. Shipping was a bit slower than I’m used to from Brownells, but this was ordered during Shot Show week, so it’s fine.
Very Good Kit
Really nice kit. I add my own triggers, so the trigger pins and trigger springs are stacking up, but there is not another kit on the market that is better. High quality parts with several nice enhancements for operation and assembly. I have used several of these in builds and will keep using them. Add a Hex head Grip screw and drop the trigger pins and springs from this kit and it would be even better.
Really like this kit
Really like this kit over buying things individually and is much better than the cheaper options. Best part I like is it comes with an Ambi safety selector
Great Lower Parts Kit
I've purchased this same kit for several builds as I like to add my own drop in Trigger. All parts in this kit are high quality and function as they should.
Best LPK on the market
Been building AR rifles for 20+ years for SO and LE as well as standard military. This hack smith that said he has been doing this since 1979 has no clue what he is talking about. Older AR lowers were all over the place and really out of spec with their final finish Parkerizing. I suspect this guy used an older lower. I have used this LPK in every modern lower(made within the last 8 years) from Anderson to Xanthos and not once had any problems. This by far is the best LPK ever made. The safety, mag and bolt catch are all upgraded and amazingly styled and the detents are 1 sided and well though out! Please dont waste your money on the other junk LPKs out there. You will love this kit!
My Favorite Lower Parts Kit
I received great examples of each part. The safety works flawlessly, the bolt catch is nice and the takedown pins just plain work great. I have this set on an M4E1 lower. I don't know why someone would ding this set for not working on a very specific non-Milspec lower, but whatever.
Looks better and works better than stock
The Strike Industries AR Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts kit was just what I was looking for to improve the function of my AR-15s. The bolt catch lever, pivot pin, and takedown pin were especially useful. The bolt catch lever is larger than stock, both at the top and bottom. The bottom of this lever particularly is easier to operate than with a stock lever, when releasing the bolt carrier into battery. Also found the pivot pin and takedown pin to be easy to press out just using my thumb, and then easy to pull to their lock out positions using a thumb and finger. The ambidextrous safety works well. An extended (larger than stock) magazine release button would have been nice, but this would have made the parts cost a bit more. Instructions are lacking with this kit. I assume that the manufacturer believes that anyone who buys it knows where all the parts go and how to install them. I did not use the trigger or hammer springs which were included in the kit, so I cannot evaluate them.
Good setup
Really nice kit, parts are great quality and design! I love everything about it, EXCEPT for direction/labeling. Everything just came in 3 little bags with no indication which spring was which. Its easy to figure out, but its a pain in butt when theres extra springs for the trigger, hammer and disconnector too.
Overall good kit, minus trigger and possibly defective mag catch
Skip the trigger if you get this kit, trigger was pretty much trash and no better than generic mil-spec trigger. The larger take-down pin heads are a nice touch, and the 60deg safety throw is amazing. Like others mentioned, the ambi selector switches were quite sharp but nothing a little bit of gritty sand paper couldn't fix. The one area I did have issues with was my mag catch. During a recent rifle shoot, I was running it hard and during mag reloads with the bolt locked back, I kept finding that the new mags would over insert and get jammed preventing me from releasing bolt catch. At first I thought it was due to my gen2 PMAGS. But upon further inspection after taking it apart at home, I noticed the mag catch has an overly aggressive chamfer which would slide over recessed slot stop in the PMAGs for mag catch. I swapped the SI mag catch for a generic mil spec one (with very minor chamfer) on another lower I had and for the most part it stopped the over insertion problem. Looking at the SI photos, it doesn't appear that the chamfer is supposed to be this pronounced so perhaps I got a defective one.
