ENHANCED CARBINE BUFFER TUBE FOR AR-15

ENHANCED CARBINE BUFFER TUBE FOR AR-15 Reviews & Ratings

Buffer tubes serve a vital function in the AR15 recoil management system, but why can't they be more? Aero took a whole new approach when designing Aero’s Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube by including features like carrier support extensions, position guide drain holes and ramping the design of the tube. These features add reliability, security, and simplicity that traditional mil-spec buffer tube options historically overlook.

Weight: 4 oz

FEATURES:
  • Carrier Support Extensions - Fully supports and guides the bolt carrier group into the buffer tube after a round is fired, preventing carrier tilt and unnecessary wear on key components. The Carrier Support Extensions also extend on either side of the buffer retaining pin, securing the pin in place while simultaneously preventing the buffer tube from backing out under recoil.
  • Position Guide Drain Holes - Each position guide features a drainage hole that removes water from the system in marine environments. During routine operation, smoother cycling is achieved by allowing additional air to escape during the compression cycle of the rifle.
  • Ramped Tube Design - Allows for effortless installation of traditional carbine stocks. Aero Precision have removed the need for messing around with screwdrivers to get your furniture over the end of the buffer tube. Simply hold down the adjustment piece and push your stock onto the Enhanced Buffer Tube.
  • Proper Thread Depth - Traditional buffer tubes feature extended unused threads that can cause your stock to become trapped when fully collapsed. While some turn these threads down, Aero have correctly machined the threads to the proper depth, providing a much cleaner look.
  • Mil-spec Dimensions - Machined from a 7075-T6 Aluminum Impact Extrusion to mil-spec dimensions. All standard carbine stock options made to work with mil-spec buffer tube dimensions are compatible with Aero Precision’s Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube.

Love these!
I've tried several buffer tubes, and this is by far my favorite. It is well made and looks great. The finish is always nice and there is a choice of colors available that should blend with whatever colors you are building the rest with. I particularly like the enhanced feature which gives the retainer pin more coverage to secure once assembled. This is my "go to" buffer tube.

Better than mil spec
This tube (and others like it) supports the rear of the BCG, giving better alignment and potentially better accuracy.

Aero Kodiak Brown Buffer Tube Exension
Great fit and awesome color. Light weight, perfect threading, the detent slot and ramped stock is a great touch. As always, Brownells was spot on with quick shipping!

Essential part of every build!
As the title says, I will not build an AR without this tube. I also went back and replaced this part on all my previous builds with this tube. I love the anti-tilt design and the drain holes. Finish is top notch and the quality is great. I have them in black and anodized ODG. Highly recommend!!

Arero Precision enhanced buffer
Easy to install, works perfectly. I really like it.

Nice upgrade for your AR carbine buffer
I wanted to try this extension tube on my 9mm PCC lower from PSA, and it fit perfectly. It does make it easier to put the stock on the tube, but it doesn't make it any simpler to take it off (which is probably a good thing). Overall, it is an upgrade from a typical milspec extension tube, and given the option I'll continue to swap those out for this one from Aero.

Ideal carbine buffer tube
This is my go-to carbine buffer tube. It's solid, easy to install, captures the retaining pin completely, it's just fantastic! The fit and finish were perfect. The machining is flawless. I can't say enough about it. Buy it, you'll like it!

Aero Precision enhanced buffer tube.
One of the best buffer tubes available. Rear of tube is designed for easy stock installation. Inside of tube is super smooth with no chatter marks. Excellent fit and finish, Will be buying more, for sure.

Very impressed
Had to replace two buffer tubes with stripped threads. I used these, and i am very impressed with the design. The two stripped tubes were due to guns being turned while the butt stocks were secured in a mount. With the way these Enhanced tubes are designed to engage the buffer retainer, i don't think the guns will turn like they were. Will replace the buffer tubes on my personal rifles with these.

Unusable due to incomplete machining
I was very excited to receive this enhanced buffer tube from Aero Precision. However, when I looked at the tube, I immediately noticed there was no buffer pin slot on the extended lip of the tube. Well thats not right, I thought. Then I noticed there was no slot cut into the threads for the backplate tab, so it would be impossible to use a backplate. Hmm, how am I going to keep that annoying takedown spring and pin in place.electrical tape? Then I saw that channel and pin slots for the stock had also not been cut. Hmm, guess we wont be able to keep a stock secured on this thing without the hot glue gun. Finally, the little drain hole at the rear was also absent (a minor detail). That being said, the finish on this completely unusable buffer tube was very nice, with only a slight nearly invisible flaw observed. The inside lip was also a bit rough, so it could use a bit of deburring. A quick call to Brownells support line set the wheels in motion for a replacement, which they said would be examined prior to shipment. Brownells gets a solid A for support, but Aero Precision gets a D for sending a beautiful piece of non-functional metal. Lol The two stars rather than one star reflects the fact the finish was very nice. I am hoping the replacement negates this review.we shall see. I noticed when writing this review that a Best Use category of Paper Weight is missing. :-/
