BEST BARREL BOLT TOOL
No other DIY barrel bolt tool secures the upper receiver and the barrel simultaneously, so that the right amount of torque can be applied to the bolt & barrel threads without damaging or warping supporting parts.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Much needed tool
Was always worried about tightening barrel nuts with what I had to hold my receiver and saw this and knew it was worth the expense. Bought 2, 1 for 223 and 1 for 308.

Great tool.
Great tool for assembling .308 barrels to the upper. The sail portion is a feature that makes it safer for assembly by minimizing the risk of damage.

Worked perfectly
Worked exactly as intended. Complete beast of machining. The finish did start to come off rather quickly for the sticklers but really, who cares. If you ever run out of ammo, you can use this as a weapon.

Superior to Geissele
I have both the 5.56 and 7.62 versions of upper receiver rods. The "fin" on the top makes a huge difference. It evenly distributes force on the upper instead of the index pin. They're quality tools and they've served me very well.

Excellent Made in USA Tool
Excellent tool. It can easily be modified for use on a SIG 716 to clearance steel insert in ejection window.

Best Tool For The Job
If you need to install a barrel into a receiver or add/remove a muzzle brake, this is the right tool for the job. Is it expensive? Yes but totally worth it. The teeth in the business end engage in the locking lugs of the barrel extension so theres no pressure on the outside of the receiver body like a clam shell. This is especially important with 308 ARs because of the lack of uniformity compared to AR-15s. If you are working with a muzzle device thats the end of the story. However, for barrel installation that fin engages almost the full length of the charging handle channel inside the receiver. That space IS uniform across 308 AR variations. Without that fin, all of the torque is applied to the alignment pin on the barrel extension. The fin distributes the torque evenly on a large surface area. I have a much older tool thats just a rod with teeth on one end and a socket for a torque wrench on the other. I had to put my barrel wrench in the vise, hold the upper in one hand against it, then torque wrench in the other hand. It was not pretty but it worked. This tool is so secure I can happily work on the upper even for other purposes and not worry about dropping anything.

Does what it's supposed to
The extra "tab" on top that goes into the charging handle channel is a nice touch. It's also removable (and comes supplied with an Allen key) should you choose to remove it.

Nice
Had all my parts and remembered I didn't have a rod for .308 builds. Anyway works great and couldn't ask for a better product. Thanks

Great piece
Holds upper receiver solidly. Perfect for barrel nut tightening and attaching flash suppressor. Takes off all the pressure on the barrel pin.
