Installation and Maintenance

The brake enhances the overall shooting experience, allowing for improved accuracy and comfort during extended use. However, some comments point out that it is less effective when shooting from a prone position due to debris being blown towards the shooter.

Best brake for the money!
I've fired many brakes but none reduce the recoil as much as this does. Makes a 308 feel like a 223. Accuracy seemed to improve a good bit.
M41 Muzzle brake
It is installed on a Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag. It is a MUST to use a Loctite or a crush washer. I am using purple Loctite, no movement after 100 + shots. Without loctite it loosened after a few shots As far as recoil reduction GREAT I am using a Burris 6.5x20x50 scope. I am still able to see the steel target move after pulling the trigger. Reducing the recoil in a 300 Win Mag that much is a major accomplishment!!!
Like shooting a different gun!
This thing is a beast! Threads right on my 700 SPS with a 16.5 in barrel. Only have limited use with it so far and haven't shot groups but standing offhand, I'd say more than 50% recoil reduction and muzzle flip. I put a short clip of with and without the brake on youtube. A lock washer or crush washer is a must. It loosened after each shot. I'll need to buy a few more!
Worth it
This thing is well worth the money. I am not sure if it improves the grouping by the design or the fact that there is very little recoil allowing you to be comfortable when shooting. I am shooting 165 grains @ 2800 fps and the gun hardly lifts. Almost like shooting the 223 with a hot load.
Really Works!
Really reduced the recoil on my Savage Hog Hunter in 308. Its like shooting a 22LR Noise is not much more than normal. I like the fact that I can easily change it from one gun to another. Found an adapter from 5/8X24 to 1/2X28 so I can even move it to my MVP in 5.56 just for kicks. Or lack of.
M41 Muzzle Brake
I just ordered (another Precision Armaments M41) brake for a new Savage .308 TR. I have one currently installed in a Savage Model 11/111 Hog Hunter in .338 Win Mag. It reduces felt recoil by 50% I would say. Also eliminated muzzle rise and torsion. It is pretty amazing. The .338 feels like a .243 recoil-wise. Very impressed and I would recommend this product all day long.
outstanding on scout rifle
when I read this item reduces recoil, I thought, "yeah, sure" because I didn't believe there would be a perceptible change. I expected recoil from a bolt action .308 and I didn't think it was so bad. Now that I have this brake installed on my Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle (which has a short barrel) I would not take it off. I estimate the felt recoil has been reduced on this rifle by more than half. The muzzle blast is diverted very effectively away from the path of the bullet at 90 degrees. If you are shooting in any proximity to others, for example at a range, they are most definitely going to be affected. The blast has to go somewhere. So that is the tradeoff. You get less recoil, but no one will want to be at the position next to yours at the range. Does not affect my evaluation of the product, it's not intended for target shooting. It's a remarkable piece of engineering and I highly recommend if it's appropriate for your purposes.
Wow!!!
The brake works very well. I wasn't sure at first due to the lack of reviews( on Brownells and elsewhere online) But the M41 is an excellent choice. I can spot my own shots. It is a little noisy for the guy next to you.... but hey, its a gun range, What do they expect? Excellent Product
one of the greatest rifle parts ever!!!
I put this on my new Savage .308 bolt action. It came threaded and this thing threaded right on. I used a crush washer from the same company, don't know that I needed to. The amount of recoil it takes away is amazing. It made a very acurate rifle more acurate and a pleasure to shoot all day long! The only down side is when shooting at a crowded range the guy next to you will complain about the noise redirected at him.
awesome brake!
recoil reduction amazing! best brake i have used yet, not sure about torsion reduction though, at least i cant tell shooting from a bi-pod anyway. Finish is super durable, cant be scratched even with a knife
