A solid buy
I bought this vice block to make it easier for me to clean my gun however, I found so many more uses for it. I use it to dry my gun after I’m out hunting with it, I’ve used it to mount my optics, and I’ve used it to mount other accessories as well. It’s a must have for a 308 or AR 10 gun Cleaning.

Versatile and great value
Plastic seems rugged, price is great, fit is fine. Stop prevents lower from dropping onto vise and mag catch engaged well. The 2 ends of this block are NOT the same. One is for DPMS pattern and the other for Armalite. The reviewer who couldnt get the mag catch engaged was using the wrong end. My Aero Precision M5E1 lower fit very nicely and the mag catch engaged. (Brownells description doesnt explain this and the lettering for the different ends is hard to see.)
Very versatile tool
This block seems very handy to me. I handle a lot of guns everyday and I shoot almost every day and for the money, the 308 jig has fit everything I have put on it.
Fits really snug
It does work and it is usable but it is very snug in my rifle. I may sand it down a little bit to see if I can improve the fit.
Get what you pay for.
It does fit an Aero M5 .308 lower but it could have a tighter fit. Also Mag catch notch in Vise block does not capture the Mag Catch assembly in firearm so firearm is not locked in. If not careful firearm can be bumped off Vise block. I ordered a second Vise block but the same applies to the second one so I can assume its the design.
Poor quality control
Purchased one for AR15 and one for AR10. The 15 fit fine. The 10, DPMS pattern side, had to have the mag release slot milled .05 towards the top of the block for the mag release to engage the slot. Makes me wonder if the Armalite pattern side fits. Unfortunately I don’t have one to check.
Does NOT FIT
Does NOT FIT a LaRue Rifle. If you have a LaRue rifle don't waste your money.
