The M5 .308 Enhanced Carbine Buffer Kit is the perfect complement to standard .308 rifle builds. This kit highlights our Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube that delivers features that increase the reliability, security, and simplicity of your build.

AR15/AR10® ENHANCED CARBINE BUFFER TUBE FEATURES:

Carrier Support Extensions - Fully supports and guides the bolt carrier group into the buffer tube after a round is fired, preventing carrier tilt and unnecessary wear on key components. The Carrier Support Extensions also extend on either side of the buffer retaining pin, securing the pin in place while simultaneously preventing the buffer tube from backing out under recoil.

Position Guide Drain Holes - Each position guide features a drainage hole that removes water from the system in marine environments. During routine operation, smoother cycling is achieved by allowing additional air to escape during the compression cycle of the rifle.

Ramped Tube Design - Allows for effortless installation of traditional carbine stocks. Aero have removed the need for messing around with screwdrivers to get your furniture over the end of the buffer tube. Simply hold down the adjustment piece and push your stock onto the Enhanced Buffer Tube.

Proper Thread Depth - Traditional buffer tubes feature extended unused threads that can cause your stock to become trapped when fully collapsed. While some turn these threads down, Aero have correctly machined the threads to the proper depth, providing a much cleaner look.

Mil-spec Dimensions - Machined from a 7075-T6 Aluminum Impact Extrusion to mil-spec dimensions. All standard carbine stock options made to work with mil-spec buffer tube dimensions are compatible with Aero Precision’s Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube.

M5 (.308) Enhanced Carbine Buffer Kit for AR-308 Black - Aero Precision

SPECIFIC TO AERO M5 308 CARBINE: Works well. No issues with normal power/pressure ammo. Did not eject Hornandy "low recoil" ammo I tested it with, but that makes sense, needs a little more juice to cycle the bolt carrier group. Awesome customer service and quick shipping as usual from Brownell's I purchased this to correct a problem shipment from Moriarti Armaments. They included an AR15 buffer in their M5/.308 kit. NOT GOOD. Do not let Moriarti's great "deals" lure you in. Stick with a reputable company like Brownell's.

Great design

The protruding chin on the threaded end makes all the difference. My new go-to buffer assembly.

Aero makes high quality products

Fit fine with Magpul gen 3 PRS and LAW folding device. Going forward any build of mine will be with an Aero enhanced buffer tube. I have this in a carbine and a full length AR-10

Well made, fit perfectly. The only minus a Magpul PRS will not fit over the thread. That stock is better installed with a full length buffer tube.

Great quality buffer tube that fit perfectly. The spring and buffer itself are okay. Took up the play out of the weights inside the buffer to help keep the rattle down.
