The MOE SL Hand Guard for AR15/M4 firearms with mid-length gas system and A2 front sight* provides modular flexibility with M-LOK® accessory slots in a lightweight, sleek, cost effective design.

Designed with versatility in mind, M-LOK slots at the two, six, and ten oclock positions allow the attachment of optional Picatinny rail sections and other accessories for mounting tactical lights, slings, grips, etc. Reinforced, heat-resistant polymer construction provides durability without the weight and expense of an aluminum rail hand guard. A large front extension and lower lip protects the user from the hot front sight gas block assembly and maximizes useable hand guard length.

The MOE SL Hand Guard, Mid-Length is a direct replacement for most factory plastic, two-piece, mid-length hand guards and requires a ROUND front hand guard retaining cap and rear spring-loaded delta ring (some mid-length firearms are equipped with a triangular retaining cap and are not compatible).

Very nice but requires fitting

I think these are excellent handguards. Not as chunky feeling as the previous design. They feel great in the hand and in my opinion they look terrific. They are more difficult to install than the old ones; a delta ring tool will be your best friend for installing these, especially when you install the lower half as it isa very tight fit. As others have stated, these are not designed for triangular handguard caps, they will only work with round caps. Also, if you have a standard front sight post with sling swivel, you will need to punch out the sling swivel or modify the handguard because it will not fit otherwise.

SL variants require part removal

On the Magpul SL forends require the removal of the original sling swivel. No big deal, unless you want to keep it. Buy the Magpul M-lok sling mounts. These are great. The carbine model make a huge improvement.

fits round front mounting plate

I gave it a 4 star because this will not fit adams arms piston system and is made to fit round front mounting plate. I would have given it a 1 star but I was able to fit via the use of a Dremel tool and round files after fitting this hand guard it is perfect I love the tight fit and looks ,and it feels great maybe they make one for piston systems and delta shape front mounting plate if they do its a 10 star

Hard to do

Nice looking and sturdy once mounted, but what a pain to install. Doesn't fit my triangular upper flange so had to do surgery to make it fit safely. Also, the rear flanges make it impossible to use the standard delta ring retraction tool. Not impressed. I can see why they are on sale.

Magpul screwed up on this one

I love Magpul stuff, but they screwed up here. Will not fit triangular cap on middys. Which is extremely odd since almost every quality mid-length upper has a triangular cap. If yours is round, then buy it. If not, looks for something else. Of course they never told me anyone of these until after I bought one and could not get it on.
