The Device... Wonderful tool
Just now tried the tool with a matched upper. Nice fit inside and out. Fully supports the AR upper in and out. Best I've seen or used.

Solid Craftsmanship for the Discerning Craftsman
We have been using the Mk1 Device now for just over a year on our customer's AR repairs as well as our custom builds. It's not flashy, it's not the latest "thing".... it's just solid. It does the job. And it tells the tale on the questionable manufacturing quality of some of the "it" manufacturers out there. Being able to gauge an upper receiver correctly has actually paid for the Device a couple times over in sales of new parts... so much so that we ordered the Mk3 and are eagerly awaiting TDM's new fixture releases. If you work on ARs such that you need a solid, secure way to mount an upper receiver, don't bother with anything else - get yourself a Mk1 Device.

Built like a tank.
This Device is built like a tank. The right tool for the job. Do not drop it on your foot. Mine did not come with the shown retaining wire; no big deal, it would have gotten in the way.
The Device
I got this when it was new. Before it was at Brownell's. Heard about it locally and had to check it out. There have been some minor modifications since, all for the better, but mine is still going strong. Do you want to lock an upper in and do whatever you want to with it? This is the "Device" for you. Do you want to tweak a scope? flip it over. This thing is made to last, kinda taking us back to when craftsmanship was a thing. The price is up there, but do you want to buy one, or 4 of the same thing? Comes out to be cheaper in the end. I just re-read my post, and it sounds like a plug...well it kind of is. I friggin' love this thing. It does everything it is supposed to do. Put that barrel on with something else, then use this...You will know what I mean.
MK1MOD0 Device
I have tried a ton of tools and fixtures to install barrels and rails on the M16/M4 platform. This is the best tool I have used to date. Can't wait for the SR25/AR10 version to come out. Price is high but worth it. Way better than the reaction rod. Thank you.
Rock solid
This thing is built rock solid and has worked on all of my milspec uppers. I like the rail on the bottom that you can use for scope mounting. If you are sick of poorly made/ar blocks, or build multiple ar's a year this is for you. Only down side is the coar
