I have been a gunsmith for over 55 years and I have got to tell you, this company never disappoints in its quality and function of their products for the price. Excellent alternative to KAC RAS
Purchased to replace the Knights Armament Rail system on my rifle when I moved the KAC to a new build. Was going to purchase a second KAC but at less than half the price I thought Id try this. Midwest Industries knocked it out of the park with this rail forend. Its every bit as solid as the KAC even without the barrel nut grabber. The QD points on the side rails are a plus too, as is the extension over the delta ring. Feels the same as my issue rifle but looks a little nicer and since Im not mounting a PEQ15 or anything this definitely works great. This forend has no internal heat shield, so I wouldnt use it if you plan on blowing through seven mags as fast as you can. If you have the money for that go ahead and get the KAC. The Midwest Industries forend is absolutely perfect for me. Fits over a SOCOM heavy profile barrel with no issues. Locks up super tight with no play. Fit and finish is better than products at twice the cost. Ill use this forend on my next build as well!
Great quality, solid as a rock.
I just completed a build using this handguard, and I'm thrilled. When people see this handguard, they'll know you didn't go the cheap route. This handguard installs easily and does not rattle or wobble. It is lightweight, and the anodizing is perfect and matches the anodizing on the rest of my carbine. I'm going to use this handguard for future builds.
A handful
No question the quality is good. It does what it says it does. But it is a handful! I mounted my light on the right and my pressure pad on top. In order to press the pad with my thumb and hold the forend it takes a big hand to do it, and i have big hands! It seems to be a good product and the price was right, so ill make it work.
