WILSON!!!
A cool little upgrade. Fit perfectly on my regular forged Wilson lower. (As expected) Now I have room for gloves in the winter :) Gives a nice touch compared to the stock trigger guard that comes in Wilson combats lower parts kit.
excellent product
After reading the reviews i was skeptical about the trigger guard. It resembled the magpul guard but was actually in stock! I could not be happier. Trigger guard went in with no problems in my Colt 6920. Fit is fantastic and the finish blends in so well with the rest of the rifle.
Another WC success
I replaced the factory trigger guard from DPMS with this one. I really like the way it comes out flush with the sides of the lower receiver instead of being set back like the standard ones. The three angles on the bottom also do wonders for the looks and feel of the firearm. The only potential problem i see for some is that it does not flip down out of the way for really heavy glove shooting like the standard ones.
Wilson Triggerguard
The part met my expectations from Wilson Combat. The product is functionally and aesthetically pleasing. Product works great with gloves and no sharp edges. It was a gift from a friend who has an Olympic, would not fit in his rifle. Dropped into my Rock River just fine.
Fit may depend upon lower's spec
I have purchased two of these trigger guards over the past two years. I installed each on two separate Colt lowers - the first went in very easily, the second was a bit tougher to make fit. I would imagine that it's more likely that the spec of the two lowers was different than that the trigger guards varied so much one to the next to account for the more difficult second installation. After the tougher second install, I would recommend first dry fitting the guard and the set screw about 1/2 to 2/3 tightened, then aligning the rear hole with the lower receiver's "ears." Oil and install the roll pin, then back the set screw out enough turns to apply some thread lock to the exposed threads and then torque the set screw home. Done. Neither install required alteration of the receiver or the trigger guard.
Great looking Product
I love the product, but it doesn't fit my rock river lower like I want it too. The screw that comes with it doesn't fit flush but it still funtionable.
eh...
After having 2 magpul trigger guards (and liking them), I decided to try something different... Mistake. First, roll pin hole doesn't align accurately with lower (DPMS)... had to oversize drill and helicoil thread and screw to lower (which I now prefer over roll pin). The finish looks more like a glossy paint than the matt phosphate coating the lower has so it stands out... and it has less space in the guard than the Magpul. I'm dissapointed. wish I just got another magpul.
Does not fit
Ordered this part for my Colt LE6920. Holes do not align, and I have no intentions of drilling, and installing oversized roll pins. Also, the front part of the guard is not detachable like the factory version, instead a set screw is provided to secure in place. Plan to return for refund.
Not As Wilson Promises
The guard piece was relatively easy to install since I had the appropriate pin punch and set screw driver. The problem is that the rear of the replacement guard is not rounded and smoothed off where it contacts the middle finger as the finger lies on the pistol grip. There is a sharp overlay at the back of the guard where it meets the pistol grip. It protrudes, and is very sharp on each corner, promising cuts on the middle finger when firing. I had to use diamond files to smooth it down on both sides. I got it where it won't cause skin abrasions, but now it looks rough with white aluminum showing.
