Light weight and durable
This holds zero for every attachment I’ve put on it. As well as being a great light weight option for my long range builds.

Great product! Very well made and it aligned perfectly with the picatinny rail on the top of my mil-spec receiver. I highly recommend it!
Good, but buy a barrel nut wrench
Good and sturdy rail, the extra rigidity helps a lot if you plan to run a sighted laser/IR system. If you haven't purchased one you will need to buy the Geissele barrel nut wrench to install it.
World-Class Rail
The only reason you shouldn't buy this? You'll want to buy another! Seriously, this is one ROCK SOLID rail with great machining and tight finishes. I've had LaRue, Troy, YHM, etc and the Geissele beats them all IMO. Installation is a breeze and the tolerances are super tight, but not so much that it hinders install. It looks sharp and locks up super tight. I have only two minor criticisms. One, it's expensive. But I am a free-market guy so really that's an observation rather than a criticism. When you factor in the gas block it's not a bad deal. Second, one of the handguard bolt heads was only lightly finished, so it's more sliver than black. I'm surprised that made it past QC on a $300 rail. Quick touch of flat black fixed that. Highly, highly recommend this rail. If you can stomach the cost you won't be sorry.
Wonderful rail
I ordered a 13 Mk4 rail for a 16" mid-length upper. I received this 15" Mk8 instead. This was my first time experiencing anything other than perfect service from Brownells. I installed the Mk8 anyway, which fits very well with my Seekins billet upper. The 15" rail stops 1/4 shy of the base of my brake, so attaching a QD suppressor overtop should be fine. The space between the rail and receiver is, in less than technical terms, one tight-fitting piece of paper. The rail is of remarkable build quality and the rifle feels completely solid, I couldn't be happier with what Geissele is offering. The perfect combination of function and form. I especially like how the long barrel nut supports so much of the rail with very tight tolerance. For my shooting abilities, this results in a negligible shift of point of impact when using irons while the rifle is supported with a bipod at the end of the rail. Besides the product mix-up, I am very pleased with this Geissele rail.
MK8 vs MK16
Big debate between fans of the MK8 and MK16 Super Morular Rail. I decided to return this MK8. I can see the appeal but it is not only a large diameter, the raised MLok rails are bulky. They provide something to grab, but it forces one to use a specific grip. Doesnt seem conducive to other styles like a C-grip or indexing. The bottom left and right rails arent MLock either, just cutouts for disapating heat.
Not quite black
This rail feels and looks like quality. it is nice to hold and is very light. Super easy to install. The one problem is that in certain light it is not quite black - more like purple.
No wrench
Geiselle wants more than most and can’t provide the barrel nut wrench, and then none of the major companies even have one in stock, including Geiselle. Thanks Bill
