Best for the money.
The upper is worth more than listed too me, it's got Quality, mil-spec. The bolt carrier was correctly pined, and the laser engraved, just adds the style too it. I love it.
Excellent Upper
I am a service rifle shooter. Very well made upper receiver, and shoots very well. Fit and finish is great. I've put through a couple hundred rounds through it with no complaints. Everything good you'd expect from Spikes, it's definitely worth buying. Well made 'mil-spec' upper.
good , priced to sell!
People have questioned Spikes Tactical quality-DON'T!!! Bought a Spikes M4 upper and its fit and finish easily matches my Colt 6920 upper( except Spikes gives it to you at approximately $200 LESS!!) Although carbines tend to run toward overgassed, the Spikes Tactical,M4 carbine upper I have has been run on my Spikes lower, my LMT lower as well as,a Department full auto Colt lower without a problem. The BCG( bolt carrier group) is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected, properly staked, and is of the fl auto design( add a lower with an,H buffer or H2 buffer and it runs like a charm) .At first it qas finicky in feeding crappy brown bear steel cased 5.56 ammo( my Colt was also!) , it now spits the cheap stuff put like the better Federal and winchester brass. Barrels are "mil spec" metal( CMV, which is The equal to 4150 metal-most lower end makers use 4140), barrels are also double chrome lined-don't listen to the lower end users, chrome lined barrels help resist barrel erosion and you do NOT lose significant accuracy-sierra,match ammo I can print 1" groups at 100yds from a bench ! All and all a quality upper.Brownells carries lower cost uppers for a butvthe workmenship and lower quality features show why the Spikes is a great value. The only reason I gave this upper a 4/5 is because I was lucky enough to buy the, same one at same price with a tactical, quad rail. Compare, this price against other "Tier 1" AR uppers, and you'll feel lucky to save 200-300 dollars!
