Very useful! Get it from Brownells!
I absolutely LOVE this thing! It allowed me to easily mount my older pistol light on my 11.5in retro upper while also improving my sling mount point over the standard ring that came on the upper. I looked at a few other sight post pic rail options and I'm glad I went with this one. I like having the light in line with and under the barrel. This was my first mod to my upper that required using punches but it was super simple. It took me maybe 10mins. Ignore the color variation in my photo. In person the coating looks exactly as black as everything else and matches perfectly.

I installed this mount on a S&W MP sport II with little to no effort at all. Now my streamlight is very secure and I can't really find any cons for it. Overall, I'm satisfied

Installs exactly as advertised.
No issues whatsoever installing this rail on an older home defense AR. Seems to be be very secure & perfectly aligned. Roll pin was a little more snug than I expected, but no compaimts about that. New weappn light attached easily & securely. I have not fired the weapon with the rail & light installed yet, but I have no reason to think there will be a problem with it.

Best option for rail on retro build.
Easy and simple to install. Quality product with complete instructions. In my opinion, this is the very best mounting solution for someone building a retro style rifle that wants the ability to add a rail for a light without going with a more modern option. I installed this on a Dissipator style upper and the very front of the mount falls right beneath the rear most section of the A2 flash hider, so it is effective and esthetically pleasing. #WWSD2020/21

Just what I needed.
It attached correctly and easily. The pin hole had just enough resistance to make it nice and snug. The set screw sealed the deal. I used it to mount an IR laser for nightvision use. Really glad someone came up with a solution to add a rail on an AR with a standard hand guard and A2 front sight.

Satisfied
Overall I'm satisfied with the results and fit of the "Front Sight Picatinny Rail by CROSSTAC"... but the results required extensive modifications. 25 minutes with a power tool to get it to begin to even slide onto my bayonet lug, 5 minutes with a power tool to get the pin opened up enough to insert the pin. But once I got all the areas that need modifications applied, the "Front Sight Picatinny Rail by CROSSTAC" slipped right on and is solid. Would I buy another... yea, probably so. The Bottom Line ask me if I would recommend this to a friend. Yes I would, but I'd point out that they should expect to make modifications to it, in order to get it mounted on their bayonet lug.

Required modification.
Purchased for use on a Windham Weaponry SRC bayonet lug. The bayonet lug required filing on the angled side facing the magazine and the flat side facing away from the lug mount to be able to line up the holes for the spring pin and to be able to push the lug inside of the mount. The rail mount required filing on top for the same reasons. With the modifications the rail is still not parallel with the rifle. It wants to point down away from the barrel. I rated this a 2 because of the modifications and the inability to make fine adjustments. The quality of materials and manufacturing appears to be good. I do like the sling lug placement and function. I don't mind the modifications so much, what bothers me is there is no way to keep the mount parallel with the rifle.
