AR-15/M16 ELIMINATOR™ AR-15 CLEANING KIT Reviews & Ratings
Some good, some bad
This kit is a mixed bag and several items are nice. That said, there are several items that are not well made and are not worth the price. The first bad item is the gas tube brush. first the bristles are so stiff and over sized that the brush cannot be fully inserted without getting stuck. Secondly the wire that the rest of the brush is made out of is too thin, and is dead soft, not springy. It barely started to go into the tube, got stuck, and it took pliers to extract. Useless. The second bad item is the imitation paracord pull string that is supposed to be used to pull the patches and brushes through the bore. Cheap, useless, the threading on one end is intended to go to the included rod so it will have enough weight to go through the barrel. Unfortunately the screw threads were cut poorly and it would not screw together with the rod. Which is good, as the rod is too big to fit in the bore anyway. Get a boresnake or ripcord and don't look back. The rod and handle are otherwise adequate, and unlike many kits, have flats on the rod to allow tool use to disassemble in the event it gets overly tight. The other brushes are pretty tight, stiff and seem to work well. They perform their designed functions well. They include a couple of brushes for areas not usually covered in other kits and they are the best parts of the kit. In particular the BCG brush and the upper carrier brush are quite nice. The carrier key brush works well despite the poor handle design. I do not recommend, and will not purchase again from this manufacturer.
