A used tool.at a new price
If you are expecting a new wrench, look elsewhere. If you love getting a used, dirty, nicked up tool, this is the item for you. How much would you pay for such "quality"? Full price of course. Thankfully, it is just a piece of metal and doesn't have moving parts.
QC lacking, Using on BAR barrel nut
I purchased this to use with the Aero Precision BAR barrel nut, as it was the only one that I could find that may work. I read through the comments, and some said it would not work, but the staff expert said that it would. I purchased it, and it will work for that nut, but the pins are not checked for alignment by QC. The first one that I received was about 15 thousandths off from fitting, so Brownell's sent me another. The second one that I received was about 5 thousandths off from fitting; since I did not want to return a second wrench, I Sanded down the pin that was out of alignment. This is not the best strategy, but I was able to get it to work. Since the BAR nut is a bit of a special case, I tried the fit on a Delta Ring, and the fit was a bit sloppy there too, but it would work. The three pins seem to be pressed into the wrench body, so I can see how this could add to the tolerances being out of wack, but the Staff Expert should not claim that it will fit, when QC is not there to make sure that it will.
Will NOT fit Bull Barrels
In case you are new to the AR platform or new to working on them, as I was, you need to know that this wrench will not fit bull barrels to wrench the barrel nut. The lugs are in the right spot, but the cut-out is not bug enough to go around the width of the barrel itself. Since this is the reason I bought the wrench, I can't offer an evaluation on the rest of it. I know there are other combination wrenchs that will work, so I'd have to recommend something else.
