Nice charging handle
Fit is good. Love the Double Star logo. A great value.
no problems
a little loose with bolt open in my colt AR but fits snug with charging handle in firing position, makes the weapon operate as it should with no issues
Good price
It does the job and for a great price
[CAUTION]
Not mil-spec material, seems to be aluminum as a steel bolt carrier destroys the charging handle. My experience was when charging the bolt, the flimsy CH was marred by the bolt carrier enough that the front lip slipped up and bound itself the top of the inside of the upper....keeping the bolt carrier from being able to be charged. My suggestion...don't skimp on an item that has to do with the functionality of the rifle. Buy one with a bit higher grade metal; preferably steel.
you get what you pay for
i bought this just so i could get my gun together and after charging the weapon about 50 times the metal wore down to the point where the charging handle was binding the good thing about it was the price thats about it
Binding up from the start
Bought this for a ground up build. Didn't do my homework and regretted it. From the start it was binding up. Swapped it out with a milspec unit and the problem disappeared.
Pure Junk
I installed this into my newly built AR 15 and it started jamming right away. This Handle almost jammed, so bad we could almost not even get the bolt back out of the Upper Receiver. I would stay have far away from this handle. Spend a little more and save our money and hands from getting pinched trying to get it to work right.
Buyer Beware!
Not mil-spec material, seems to be aluminum as a steel bolt carrier destroys the charging handle. I normally would not give a 1 star review, but this CH simply does not even work. Buy the Vltor with enhanced latch for a little more money. You likely that you won't have to send this garbage back as I did.
not so hot
This is made of 6061 aluminum, it sucks and is weak. I wish I had realized that when I ordered it. IT BINDS up the bolt carrier group, and it is already noticeably dented in the front lip (under the hole) AFTER ONLY 10 charges with my rifle. Get one that is made of 7075 aluminum. It came as part of a kit, but I'll try to return it.
Not compatible
This item is profiled incorrectly to fit the notch in an Aero Precision upper receiver and as such, the latch's finger does not reach the recess in the upper receiver to retain it after charging. It requires much filing and that weakens the latch where there's not much metal to start with.
