AR-15/M16 BILLET UPPER RECEIVER Reviews & Ratings

Machined from 7075 T6 aluminum billet, the Ultra Precision Upper Receiver from Cross Machine Tool is 65% stronger and more rigid than standard 6061 aluminum receivers. Wall thickness has also been increased for added rigidity. Type III hardcoat anodized finish for added surface strength, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance. Upper is compatible with mil-spec parts and also with most aftermarket handguards and rail systems. Features M4-type feed ramps and a flattop 1913 Picatinny rail with alphanumeric T-markings stamped into the slots. Both dust cover port and forward assist are machined into the receiver. Does not come with dust cover or forward assist assembly.

SPECS: 7075 T6 billet aluminum, hardcoat anodized, matte black. .250” (6.3mm) diameter pivot and takedown pin holes.

very well made and a great product

Very nice

Cross Machine Tool's upper receiver is very nice, visually, and mechanically. Sizing and fit are superb. The forgings are HD and heat treated to 7075. I used one on a "combat / IPSC / 3gun" type AR in .233 I have nothing bad to say about them and I will definitely buy more CMT upper and/or lower receiver in an AR-15 or AR-10.

Very Nice upper

The machining on these uppers is much nicer than a MUR. Be sure to install FA roll pin from bottom where it is pilot drilled. Will buy again for next build.

Super top quality

From just an average weekend shooter my personal opinion is top of the line quality. Mated this upper with Cross Machine/Tool PDW lower fit and finish is outstanding. Best part of all it looks, and shoots awesome. Brownells was only place at the time to have in stock And shipped fast and cheap!!!! Nothing bad to report here .

Great Product

I have built two rifles using CMT upper and lower receivers. Their products are some of the best on the market. The fit and finish between the two are great. The lines and angles on the upper receiver are very aggressive look great. To the guy that had crushed threads on his upper, Seekins is also a great choice, but let CMT have another shot. Actually, if you call CMT, they will probably swap it out for you themselves.

Not Impressed so far!

I received the upper and proceeded to attach the forward assist when I noticed some of the threads for the barrel nut were smashed, so I am returning it to Brownells! I may try a Seekins instead but they are currently out of stock!
