AR-15/M16 ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCKS

AR-15/M16 ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCKS Reviews & Ratings

Replaces the factory front sight/gas block and allows you to tune the gas system for smoother cycling and operation. Especially critical on match and varmint rifles when shooting both factory and custom-loaded ammunition. Simple setscrew lets you control the gas flow, so you can customize the setting for each load. Hex head setscrews clamp the block securely to the barrel. Installation instructions included.

This is a standard-height A2 front sight gas block, not the taller "F-marked" height.

Low Profile model fits under handguard on .750" barrels. Rugged, all-steel construction resists gas erosion and helps maintain rifle’s weight distribution. JPGS-5B and JPGS-5S Low-Profile models have a slimmer profile to reduce weight and to fit under a wider variety of handguards.

SPECS:

Low Profile - Carbon steel, matte black. 17/8" long, 1" (2.5cm) wide. .750" I.D.

A2-Style - 416 stainless steel, matte black oxide finish. 17/8" long, 7/8" (2.2cm) wide, 33/8" (8.6cm) high, .750” I.D.

Yet another JP piece of junk
I use to buy nothing but JP. Everything they make works well, until it doesnt. I realized this after many parts I purchased over the years became inoperable. This front sight post is no exception. Looks and works great, until I attempted to adjust it. I have severe OCD so I always follow directions to the proverbial T. Turns out the lock screw strips very very easily. On initial installation I put anti seize on it to prevent this very thing. I believe it is just too small of a screw to be a lock screw or to I loosen through the carbon build up. I chalk it up to a design flaw, which in my opinion is a common theme with JP.

NO QC
Gas tube hole is not milled deep enough on this gas block. Tried it with 3 gas tubes and it does not come close to being deep enough. Not sure how this slipped through.

Totally lacking in full quality control.
I was very pleased with the first gas block I ordered. The second two were a huge disappointment. Not the usual JP quality I have come to expect. I had to grind at least 1/8 of an inch off the gas tube before the gas tube pin hole would through align with the tube and the gas block. I tried the second one and the same issue was there. The gas tube hole in the block was not drilled deep enough on both of them. I made one fit my personal gun but am sending one back. I would have given them 5 stars on the first one I installed, but have to give them only 1 star for their quality control.

Gas tube milled 1/4 inch to short
Got this item ,Opened and found it caked in white powder from the anodizing .The after 20 min worth of cleaning I find that the hole for the gas tube is a 1/4 inch to short . Called and got the runaround . I purchased this item because of the reputation of the product . A 1/4 inch off???? I have 20$ Chinese adjustable's , Not that great but at least it was milled correctly . But Brownells was not to blame , Great selection and fast shipping . I will still buy here !!!
