Took some 'breaking in'?
When I first started using this .22LR conversion it would never cycle properly. I had to pull the charge handle after each round and the casings would get jammed while ejecting as well. I had several times where 2 and once 3 rounds cycled with one trigger pull. After putting 40-50 rounds through, it is now consistently cycling and one round at a time. Seems to be working perfectly fine now. Was rough at the start though. For now, I'm happy.
CMMG 22lr conversion
I had problems with constant miss fires. I attribute this to my 3.5lb. trigger group. After reading the directions they say there are problems with round trigger hammers. The accuracy i got with CCI standard was very good with the 1 in 7 twist barrel. I would have given 5 stars had i not had the miss fire issue. This is a quality product and should be fine with a milspec trigger group.
not all good
The conversion drops in and works extremely well. Everything works as it should. There is a fatal problem with both of my rifles and that is the twist rate of a 5.56 / .223 barrel. One is 1 in 8 and the other 1 in 7 . As a result they are terribly inaccurate with 22LR and the CMMG conversion. When taking the conversion out do it over something soft. The bolt carrier likes to jump out of the rifle and land on it's nose. On a hard floor the result is a bent bolt nose that is inoperative. It can be fixed with gentle persuasion and patience.
Provides alternative on same platform
While this doesn't replace the need for your modified Ruger 10/22, it does provide the unique opportunity to fire 22LR using the same AR15 platform or other platforms using low cost ammunition. This make it inexpensive to practice or test a particular platform, something your 10/22 cant tell you about said AR15 platform. This is great right, at least until some new covid mandate requires them or some other components or aspect of the 2nd Amendment to be abolished for our safety.
Unboxing quality looks good
But I won't have a chance to judge until I've tested it using several different barrel length platforms and ammunition. But I didn't buy this create a converted 22LR tactical rifle. I bought it as a range trading and marksmanship tool despite its expected hiccups. If I wanted a perfect reliable 22LF with 30 round autoloader capability, superb accuracy, and tactical functionality, I would have spent this $200 on tactical folding stock for my Ruger 10/22
Bolt great, magazines not so much
The 22 conversion works great I have ran about 150 rounds of cci and federal through it no problems. The 25 round magazines however not so great, all three you can only load 12 to 14 rounds in them, the first round binds up in the mag as it tries to go around the corner in the round channel in the mags. I will need to deburr the channel on all three mags so the rounds will clear.
Perfect function, poor accuracy
As always Brownell's customer service and shipping is excellent. I ordered the "Bravo" conversion. Intended purpose was training for grandson. In this role the CMMG conversion was adequate. Function with a variety of ammo was flawless, magazines were well made and felt similar to the "real thing". The not so good. First, point of impact was way, way off even at 25 yards, we're talking an average of about 20 min. on 4 different uppers. Cost is close to a decent .22 so it's a bit high for what you get. My BIGGEST complaint. Accuracy, if you can call it that, is abysmal. At 100 yards you are lucky to his an IDPA steel silhouette target once or twice out 10 rounds. This is worst than disappointing. Even with a very high dollar match upper, no joy. All that being said I'm not upset, more importantly neither is my grandson. Inside 50 yards he is able to shoot semi-respectable groups, learn firearms safety and marksmanship skills. The fact that he is having a ball while learning is an added bonus. This is a decent product but don't expect any accuracy beyond about 50 yards.

Mine has a minor defect
This kit fits perfectly in my brownells 10.5 b-tac. Works great Ive tried a high velocity, standard velocity and sub sonic bullets. Its a lot of fun to shoot. I would have given it a 5 star review but I think theres something wrong with my extractor (I uploaded some photo). The edges on the extractors claw looks like it was chip but its already like this when I got it so Im not sure if its the actual design or its a factory defect. It cant extract dud bullets or unfired rounds I half to press the extractor down with a flat screw driver to help it pull the dud bullets or any unfired rounds. Goodthing Im a gunsmith so I just replace the extractors spring and did some modification in it now its working perfectly.
