Tried on a Ruger AR-556,has a notched hammer,didnt feed well was not good
Tried on a Delta Defence, AR Has a different hammer, got it to load once had to put in 9 rounds,bent rounds jams when it fired that one time had to slam the mag to load. it was ok.the mags seem to have an angle that gets the round getting hit in middle.Wasnt a fun day at the range. went back to 10-22

Don't waste your money
CMMG had a reputation of being quality but not this time. I ordered one and the machine tolerances were so far off it would not go in the upper. Stuff happens I understand. The second one was as bad as the 1st. and had carbon fouling all over it. I spend 10 minutes getting the carbon off and then 3 hrs. hand fitting it. I even tried 3 different brands of uppers including Colt with the same result. I would have returned for a refund but it was a Christmas present.
Doesn't Chamber a Round
Finally got around to installing in my Radical Firearms AR- does not chamber a single round, each one jams and has to be cleared. I've tried all three magazines and different ammo. Does not generate enough force to load a round in. Huge disappointment. Will be contacting CMMG but not sure what the outcome will be.
Wont come out
Worked great when in use with the 22LRs, but now the bolt does not come out. Its stuck! I have a AR-15 Saint Victor 55.6 NATO. Have to take it in now to a gun smith. Not good.
Dangerous and a waste off money
I thought this would be a fun add on to my AR but I quickly found out otherwise. The first time out it jammed frequently and the accuracy was a joke. I thought maybe it was the ammo and bought several different kinds for my next trip. I had a little more success with accuracy but the jamming, FTF, and FTE were annoying. Even more annoying were the repeat fires. Not as often but still a bit concerning to have two rounds cycle with one trigger pull. The final straw was a detonation without the bolt fully closed. Thankfully it was just a 22 so there wasn't much power behind the pieces that hit me but still not worth screwing around with. If you want a 22 AR just go buy one. They're only a few hundred more and may save your eyes.
Catastrophic Failure
Brand new and by the 3rd shot had a catastrophic failure that resulted in the Cmmg bolt splitting open and a round getting stuck in my upper. I have used a Ciener unit in the past and never had any problems but this CMMG unit is not the same quality. I will follow this up with CMMG as this could have cause a serious injury. Cannot recommend this to anyone.
Good deal until...
Bought 3 of these, one for me and the other 2 for my buddies. Out of the box, none of the bolts worked on either of our .223 wylde uppers. You would need a hammer to hit the bolt in (yes we tried it dry and then tried it lubed) Threw them back in the boxes, forgot about them and went on with our shooting. Got home and tried throwing the cmmg bolt into my .556 upper and it went in like a glove. Does it work in that one? I haven't tested it yet, but the conversion kit didn't work on our .223 wylde uppers.
Absolute piece of JUNK
I usually measure my rimfire groups with a caliper at 50 yards. This would have required a yardstick! Can you even call that a group? I would have settled for an 8" group and just used it for moving practice but over 24" (how much over I don't know because some rounds didn't even impact the back stop). Unusable.
Good idea, poor execution
I have a Colt AR-15 and this bolt does not operate properly in it. The bolt sticks to the rear and does not complete the cycle. When it does cycle it fails to eject the spent round which gets jammed in the upper or just stove-pipes. I have tried various .22lr brands to see if that makes a difference but the result was the same. I will probably save my $ for a dedicated AR style .22.
