Highly-efficient internal helical design uses ten precisely contoured longitudinal ports combined with a unique, cloverleaf-shaped exit port to trap unburned powder particles long enough for full burn and dissipation of hot combustion gasses. Muzzle flash cancels itself out to minimize shooter exposure during daytime and low-light situations. Also serves as a compensator by directing venting gasses to help reduce muzzle jump and improve shooter control for better shot placement. Precision machined from 4140 steel to stand up to rough tactical operations. 2-1/8" overall length brings a 14½" barrel up to legal length for civilian use when flash suppressor is permanently pinned or welded in place. Accepts most sound suppressors and Blank Firing Attachments designed to fit a M16/M4 flash hider. VC-1 fits .223/5.56mm AR-15/M16/M4 rifles;

Nice looking compensator!

I really like this compensator, but it is not NJ legal so, unfortunately, I have to send it back : (

Best Comp for money, can use BFA!

This comp will bring a 14.5" barrel to 16.1" legal OAL when pinned. It's currently the best bang for buck Comp on the market, it's $54.00, is very stable/robust, and allows user to use a BFA to shoot blanks.

Finally a great Comp that's Affordable!

VLTOR did a great job when they designed this Flash Suppressor, it rivals the BCM gunfighter series comps and Battlecomps for around half the money and you can still use your BFA.

Looking for a year and finally broke down and bought it. Wish I had sooner works great. Less rise less fire. Does kick a little dust up if you' re using a bipod. Worth it though.

Does Its Job and then some!

I just recently bought this because lots of products from VLTOR are supurb and i also needed a muzzle break/compensator. So i purchased this and i must say since bringing this to the range theres a considereably reduce in muzzle rise and that follow up shot is stacking on that first shot perfectly, it also hides the flash just about the same or alittle bit better than the standard A2 birdcage.

Perfect for Gemtech HALO

Before getting this product, I couldn't use the Gemtech Halo with the SIG556 SWAT platform (10" NFA) due to the contour of the barrel. The Gemtech mount fits perfectly on the VC-1 flash hider and keeps the entire suppressor assembly mounted to the flash hider. This is a perfect solution for the Gemtech HALO.

Does what it says

Can get a pretty good follow up shot and the sound goes away from the shooter. It is loud when not standing directly behind it (what gun isn't) when somone else is shooting and when shooting, did not really have to use ear protection...but, always protect your ears.

Works very well

Great product, but when shooting prone, it did have a habit of kicking up more dust with custom handloads than with factory loads. Never noticed muzzle flash and no noticable muzzle jump with my heavy handloads. With factory loads, and lighter handloads, no muzzle movement at all. A little harder to clean than other compesnsators I have used, but with all the pluses for my rifle, I would use it again on another rifle that I am planning to build.

Lots of Muzzle Climb

The flash suppression is great, but the muzzle climb is out of this world. It looks great, but the A2 birdcage is more effective.
