The C clip was already installed on the rod so I didn’t have to worry about it getting lost when I tried to install it.

Simple installation
So I messed up and put the barrel on before putting the ejector port cover on. No big deal other than it's an M4E1 with no through hole at the rear of the port cover. So off came the barrel nut and on went the port cover - didn't even have to remove the tiny C-clip! Forward assist was simple to install, mainly due to the M4E1 upper having a threaded pin instead of a roll pin like most. Fit/finish/function are all plenty good, very satisfied!

The best of the Mil-Spec UPKs
I've used many different UPKs. This is by far the best. The Dust Cover is Rigid and Robust. The Spring is stiff and keeps the Cover opened with Authority.
AERO has nice toys that work
This one is for just in case . Have used 3 others and guess what I keep coming back for more. Just don't loose the C CLIP.
Everything you need for an upper
Forward assist and dust cover with all hardware. It all comes in 1 bag, so check for forward assist pin inside of the dust cover mounting hole (where mine worked itself into). Quality and no frills.
Perfect fit
Fits the Aero upper like it is supposed to. Couldn't ask for better.
Costs a bit more but does the job
Typical UPK that costs a little more because of the name. Was installed in a Brownells Upper Receiver without any issues. Fit and function were perfect. As with all mil-spec dust covers Ive ever owned, expect it to have multiple annoying scratches.
