AR-15 COLLAPSIBLE STOCK ASSEMBLY (MIL-SPEC)

Collapsible buttstock similar to the current US GI M4 carbine stock provides convenient six-position length-of-pull adjustment to fit different-size shooters, including those wearing body armor. Ready to install on any standard AR-15 rifle or carbine lower receiver; includes buffer tube, receiver lock plate, lock nut, toe-mounted steel sling loop, carbine recoil spring and buffer. Buttstock is made from extremely tough, fiberglass-reinforced, injection-molded nylon to resist impact, heat, moisture, extreme cold, and most cleaning solvents. Steel lock nut has four square notches and pre-cut detents for staking to lock plate. Available with Mil-Spec (nominal 1.14" O.D.) receiver extension tube. Stock interior diameter is matched to buffer tube O.D. for a snug fit that eliminates un wanted play and rattles.

Very good for except for one piece.

Everything went together quite easily. The only problem was the magazine release. It was not able to retain the magazine in place. I checked the angle and it was just under 90. I did a very light percussion tune and it was perfect. Now all is right in the world.

The stock does not fit well enough

Apart from the stock itself, the rest of the parts are satisfactory. Stock tolerances are a bit wide so there will be some looseness. But for this price, it is acceptable.

New build

Just started a new build with this product. Using a Rellim takedown with this platform. Had no issues with threading/mating. Still early to give more than a 4. One drawback is no cover over butt plate - through-hole to buffer tube. Could see this as an issue over long term allowing debris into adjustment mechanism.

Not Brownells usual high quality

I am a long time Brownells customer and have come to expect high quality parts. The Buffer Tube in this kit appears to be lower quality, maybe 6061 instead of 7075 grade aluminum. I am building a M4 clone carbine so it looks good and is functional. Since Brownells stands behind what they sell I give it four star rating.

They work!

These are good stock kits. Nothing special, not outstanding quality but good. I had no issues with either kit. Would I buy them again? Yep.. they work.

Good practical telescoping stock

This stock is well made but rattles because the moving part fits loosely. It is easy to install and the directions are clear. Most other telescoping stock rattle too. For silent carrying buy the fixed stock.

Does The Job

How you use the product: Using it on a Kel-tec SU16. The rifle is scoped. Things that are great about it: It very well priced and fits the SU16 well. Everything about it seems solid. Nice to have 6 positions for adjustment. Things that aren't so great about it: None
