AR-15 SILENT CAPTURED SPRINGS GEN 2 H2

AR-15 SILENT CAPTURED SPRINGS GEN 2 H2 Reviews & Ratings

The Gen 2 Drop-in captured-spring recoil system helps your AR function more smoothly and quieter without any permanent modifications. The carefully balanced, custom-ground buffer spring, combined with the JP LMOS buffer, greatly reduces friction and vibration - say goodbye to the annoying “spoon over a cheese grater” noise of conventional springs and buffers. Fits buffer tubes for both M4-style collapsible stocks and also, using the included spacer, the longer tubes for fixed rifle stocks.

The H2 buffer is heavier than the standard spring. The buffer includes two Tungsten weights in addition to one steel weight. Weighing approximately 4.7 oz. Recommended for use in Short-barreled rifles, suppressed firearms, select fire rifles, and piston-operated rifles. The Auxiliary Spring Rate Kits for the JP Silent Captured Spring allow custom tuning of the device to a given rifle. While the default spring offers the best performance for the widest range of configurations, a simple disassembly and reassembly of the JPSCS with a slightly different spring rate can yield truly optimized performance, particularly for rifles without an adjustable gas block.

Benefits of the Gen 2 Silent Captured Spring include:

  • New aluminum guide rod cuts overall weight

  • Heavier masses translate to more buffering mass and chance of bolt bounce

  • Full correspondence between SCS masses and H1, H2 and H3 buffer

  • Interchangeable buffers allow conversion between AR-15 and AR-10 models (and vice versa)

Includes spacer to allow for installation in both carbine-length and rifle-length buffer tubes.

Get it
Don't listen to anyone that complains, no one wants to credit shooter error etc. for upgrading your rifle, carbine, sbr or pistol build this is a must . I have built more ar platform builds then most I know, this is always a go to upgrade. Have one for several 223, an a 308, and it is an absolute must for 300 blackout builds. Putting one in my 10 inch sbr suppressed subsonic 300 blackout. It's the only buffer to use imo. It's smoother, quieter, just generally the all around best option for a buffer for any build. I buy these before I buy a different bcg from milspec bcg's. You will notice a difference in a standard 223 or 308 or 300 build immediately, an if you're into suppressed, or hand loading , competition etc, it's very apparent it's the best buffer available, imo.

Cause that's where ill be after i convert all my AR's over to this system. I love it amazing i can not stand the twang a regular spring makes plus its so much smoother.

Another upgrade but a must.
If ur building a rifle u want the best for here it is. Feels good. Sounds good. Went w JPscs w spring assortment to avoid adjustable gas block for my 10.5 300blk suppressed. Although I'm getting BHO on the heaviest spring with this H2 weighted JPscs. So I am going to install an adj. Gas block for my particular weopon set up. But am glad I started w this product. Not all ARs are gonna be over gasesd this build was though

Worth every penny- 6 stars
just wanted to take a minute to tell you what a great product this silent recoil spring is. On the manufacturers advice I installed this kit with an H2 buffer on my .224 valkyrie build and it works absolutely flawlessly without the ridiculous bed spring noise of a typical AR. With a properly tuned gas system it pitches brass in an 8 inch circle and the rifle feeds and functions 100%. I was skeptical about the price but Im sold and will be ordering more JP products. Thanks.

Very nice upgrade
This is my third JP SCRS. I went with the H2 this time to use in my long range 556. It pairs perfectly with the 77 gr loads I shoot. Extremely well made quality product. 4/5 stars only because it is a bit pricey.

Just Don't
Don't do this. If you ever need to change the buffer it requires disassembly of the buffer tube. I used one and yes its quieter but it will not come out like a normal buffer and spring. At least the version I bought will not.

Gimmick
I purchased this buffer with high hopes of assisted recoil management only to be really disappointed, i compared the JP buffer in the H2 configuration and heaviest spring, with a H3 buffer with geissele super 42 braided buffer spring out of a daniel defense 14.5 upper, suppressed with a surefire RC2 suppressor, using X-TAC 62 gr. m855 at 30 meters standing unsupported and was able to connect follow-up shots on steel targets significantly faster with the H3 buffer, through hundreds of rounds and swapping buffers back and forth. In my opinion its definitely not worth the 200$+ price. Id be unsatisfied if I spent 40$ on the JP buffer
