Recreate an American Classic with the Brownells M16A1 Furniture Kits, built to accurately replicate the original Stock issued to thousands of American servicemen & women. The included M16A1 style buttstock, handguard and pistol grip are modeled off of original components, designed to bring affordable, original type gear back to market. There is surplus available, but these parts are continuing to dry up and the quality is often quite poor. Excellent condition items are getting quite expensive. With these furniture kits, you can outfit your favorite Retro rifle in the proper stylings of the period.

Available in several different colors including:

Black - Proper for Model 602, XM16E1, M16A1 & later generation rifles introduced after 1963
Green - Proper for early Model 601 rifles, the first AR-15 adopted by the US Air Force in 1959
Brown - Similar to the earliest AR-15 Prototype rifle furniture used in the late 1950s

Retro furniture from Brownells is not an exact copy of original components or their construction. Some areas have been changed due to manufacturing methods or to avoid counterfeit concerns.

What I Needed

Was looking to build a Vietnam era M16 "look alike". This fit the bill. Good price, looks good, and shoots well. And, it suited my needs. One very small issue, the forearm doesn't quite fit snugly. Not a deal breaker. Happy overall, and is a nice addition to my collection. Glad i grabbed it while it was still available.

Perfect for my AR

This is just what I wanted, I have the black furniture and love it but the green furniture will just make the AR pop I really believe I will get lots of good comments. I have not installed the new parts as of yet.

Perfect for your 601 build

These are the closest color to factory for a 601 replica build. No having to find a spray paint to match - these look great.

Spectacular!

I'm blown away by this product. Brownells has outdone themselves. All I need now is a slickside "604" upper and my late Air Force M16 is done.

I'm in heaven

Replaced my reconditioned handgaurds with this one from Brownells and couldn't be more excited. My reconditioned surplus A1 handgaurds were obviously sanded smooth and did not match the texture of my new grip and buttstock. Now the rifle looks and feels like the brand new A1 Clone that it is. The fit is much better more snug also. Will be buying the correct buttstock and grip very soon to make the rifle more accurate. Thanks Brownells !

Great, with a few caveats

The critique: I bought a black set and green set. The black set was perfect...the green forend set was defective, but I know I can replace it with the Brownells lifetime guarantee. Also, while they look great, no one is going to mistake them for original furniture. The great: They are beautiful, and very high quality. The style is appropriate, and from ten paces will look original. The ergonomics are timeless, and I expect many people will buy the grip and stock even for use with a free float rail. They are that good. I haven't used enough to evaluate durability, but by all measures, Brownells has another winner.

Finish that build.

All the pieces fit perfectly, but theyre not exact copies and were never meant to be. They look great and are well made, if you want a museum piece this probably isnt the furniture for your rifle. I built a shooter with almost all Brownells parts and couldnt be happier. 4 stars only because my stock sling swivel is very tight and a slight gap at the butt pad. The handguards are smaller at the rear than my NOS originals but fit better.

Brown Retro Furniture

The fit was good for the most part, had to get replacement grip due to poor molding. Brownells sent the replacement fast as they are known to do. Only real problem is the fact the color is lighter than the original brown. Worth the price. I used them on a dedicated 22lr rifle.

Works, but not like real thing.

Purchased for M16A1 retro build. Decent/affordable OEM/surplus handguards were too expensive, but these handguards worked well, not the real thing, but looked and felt ok. Pistol grip felt cheap and flimsy compared to OEM/surplus, but was useable. Butt stock was thin plastic-squirt gun feeling poor excuse for anything gun related. Ended up using handguards and pistol grip, and ordered surplus butt stock to finish my build. I gave an overall score of 3...handguards were a 4, pistol grip was a 3, and butt stock was a 1.
