Love this little thing…
I chuckle each time I use it thinking of how I used to carry out this task. Makes it a breeze. Two thumbs up from me and I recommend it. Super simple and super quick. Came in the large armorers kit and probably my favorite piece that was included.

If you build ARs this is a must have piece of kit
This is a must have piece of kit if you build AR lowers. It makes an extremely difficult job possible. It still takes a little effort, but it will eliminate flying springs.

This would have saved me $30 in spare springs and pins
The takedown spring and pin on my latest build seemed like it would be simple, easy to do with a blade to hold them in position while pushing in the pivot pin. I did something like it, fifteen years ago. This time...no. I went through two springs and pins, ordered another set, and went through two more before I ordered this little tool. It's pretty simple...it will only fit one way, really. It took two attempts, because I lifted the "wing" too soon, but I didn't lose pins or springs, and it hit solidly just as I needed. Highly recommended.

Great tool for a great price
It always takes me a minute or two to remember how to use it. But once I have dusted off the comb webs, it does a great job in under 1 minute. No more launched springs. If you are building AR lowers is is a must have tool.
Best tool ever made
Does exactly what it says no more launching Springs or detent across the room..!! Lol
Simple tool to do a tedious task
This tool takes the stress out of installing your detent and spring for pivot pin installation. It is extremely easy to use and will make your life easier if you have to install even one set of parts on an AR15 lower.
Pivot pin instalation tool
Haven't been able to use it yet due to shoulder operation. Looks well made beats the homemade tool i have been using.
Awesome, easy, great price
Used this in a SOLGW Armorers course this pst weekend. So glad I bought it. Im a large guy - 63 215lb, big hands and I couldnt have done the simple task of what this tool is for without it. Has 4 pics/diamgrams on back of packaging for the illiterate/Crayon-eaters/cavemen. Task would have taken me 5 minutes without it and about 30 seconds with this tool. A MUST HAVE for the workbench/hobbyist, unless you have smaller effeminate hands and like playing whereyWaldo with springs and detents.
Great Tool for AR15 Lower Install
This tool makes the pivot pin install the easiest part of putting a lower together now I only wished it worked with AR10's
Buy Steel.
The idea behind this tool is great, application wise not so much. It's plastic, so it easily breaks. I've Installed around 25-30 front pivot pins. I tried this and its second use the detent cut into the guide pin and rendered it unusable. Real Avid has some great stuff but this isn't worth it. Go to your local hardware store/Home Depot and pick up a 1/4in x 2in Clevis pin or buy Brownells steel tool.
