A tool that I should have bought years ago
I finally bought this tool to make it easier to install the front take-down pin in AR’s. I’ve built many AR’s and installing the front pivot pin, spring, and detent was one of the least favorite things for me to do because I’ve lost so many springs and detents I couldn’t even count. I eventually found better ways to install these parts but I should have bought this tool years ago. I’m glad that I finally have this tool and other tools to build AR’s and that Brownell’s sell these.

Made the installation easy
I tried installing the pivot pin without the use of this tool. After several attempts, and the detent/Spring flying across the room, I bought the tool and it worked exactly as described.

If you watched Caleb's video you will see where this tool comes in VERY handy. I suppose you could try to do the job without it, but when the spring and detent go flying, you'll wish you had it.

If you are building an AR or have to remove and reinstall the front takedown pin for any reason this is a must have. Save yourself a lot of misery for $13
