AR-15 PHANTOM 5C2 FLASH SUPPRESSOR 30 CAL Reviews & Ratings
Works
I use it on a 300 fireball upper, really hides the flash. Overkill for my app.
Awesome Flash Suppressor!
Mounted on a FA lower, DPMS upper, with DPMS's SASS 18" 1/10 twist, 7.62x51 with Troy MRF 13.8" free-floating railed hand guards and a old Leopold 4.5x14x50mm VX-III Tactical scope with great results in "eliminating" any perceptible flash signature while keeping dust signature low. Test fired 20 rounds off a Harris 6-9" Bipod with Pod-claws and Pod-Lock installed. Bipod legs were fully extended to 9" and fired at dusk. My spotter reported NO perceptible flash sig. & there was minimal muzzle rise allowing me to stay on target and spot my own shots. Still experienced some dust rise out ahead of the muzzle device, but I was shooting some pretty fast 155 scenars so that was to be expected especially as dry as it was. This device offered very little recoil reduction, but it is not advertised as a muzzle brake. It was a blast to shoot especially with it being my 1st build from scratch! If you are looking for a muzzle brake, keep looking as this device does not fill that roll. I only have a muzzle brake on one .308 and it is the Badger FTE on a custom bolt rig and it really tames the .308.... I am a disabled Vet with severe injuries to my strong side upper body so it allows me to shoot longer without fatigue. Overall, I love my SASS (sort of clone!! LOL!) This flash suppressor is good kit!! May still pick up a brake though....
Very good combo brake
I put this on my 6.5 Grendel AR-15. I shot it a several outings during the day. The comp works like it should. Using a 4.5-14x44 scope, I could routinely watch my bullet strikes even at the higher powers. Recoil was minimal. I finally was able to shoot it at dusk on a tree covered mountain road that was fairly dark. No flash. Repeat, zero flash. I was very surprized I couldn't at least see a slight spark. In comparison, I shot my 223 with Brownell's flash hider. You could see a flash. Not hugh but still very visible. I'd give it 5 stars if they made it smaller than a .308 for the Grendel or 6.8SPC. For the price, it would be hard to beat.
