MOE-K® GRIP FOR AR15/M4

MOE-K® GRIP FOR AR15/M4 Reviews & Ratings

Designed as a drop-in upgrade for the standard AR15/M4 pistol grip, the MOE-K Grip provides an extremely low profile and compact design with a steeper grip angle compared to more traditional styles. The more vertical grip angle is optimized for use on PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) configurations and improves comfort and control on short LOP rifles that bring the primary hand in closer to the shooter's body. The thin profile and lack of backstrap 'beavertail' also makes it an excellent choice for shooters who prefer a smaller grip circumference.

However, a notable percentage of users with larger hands found it uncomfortable, highlighting that it's tailored for a specific audience.
Product Fit and Size
68%
The grip's size is frequently discussed, with positive feedback from those with small to medium hands who find it a perfect fit. Conversely, several reviews mention that the grip may be too small or short for average to larger hands, leading to dissatisfaction and potential returns. This split in feedback signifies that fit may vary greatly among users.
Weight and Design
65%
Reviewers often commend the lightweight design of the MOE-K Grip, noting that it contributes to an overall more manageable setup for various firearms. Its minimalist design is well received, especially for builds focused on weight reduction. The absence of a beavertail is seen as a positive aspect for some users looking for a more compact grip.
Installation Experience
25%
Installation feedback is mixed, with some users reporting difficulties due to its thinner profile. While the grip is appreciated for its tight fit, this can pose challenges during installation, especially when aligning with the receiver. This aspect signifies the need for careful handling and might discourage some users.

Slim grip
Works well on my Deep Six chassis for Ruger 22 Charger. Can’t beat Brownell’s price on this one.

Nice and slim!
I like the angle and slimness of this grip. I purchased it for my wife because she has smaller hands but I may pick one up for myself in the future. It’s similar the grip on a 43x, which I like.

Perfect!
I have meaty hands, so a slimmer grip helps me to better control the weapon. This was precisely the fit and profile I was looking for. Love the more vertical angle over the standard A2 pistol grip as well, especially with the A1-length stock I chose!

Perfect minimalist grip
Less is more! Light, short, minimalist grip with vertical angle perfect for short length-of-pull weapons. Shortens trigger reach for those with small hands, but still feels great in my large to XL man hands. No storage compartment, and does not extend upward over the lower receiver, so the condition of your lower affects your comfort using this grip. Works on anything, but optimized for square-on CQB/speed match shooting...a more canted grip would be more ideal for a rifle you mostly shoot prone or from a bench/bipod.

Fits Big Hands
I wondered if this grip would fit my hands and it does. I wear size 10/XL gloves and the geometry of this grip works perfectly with my hands. Somehow, it sits just right on the lower receiver to get my hand really high, right where it should be. My trigger finger is positioned perfectly and I can manipulate my safety selector just right. I hate the A2 grip. It has always felt too small for me. Also the grip angle feels unnatural on the A2. I have owned the Magpul MIAD, the Ergo Grip Suregrip, the original MOE, The BCM Mod 0, and the A2 grips. The Magpul K grip just might be my favorite. I have read reviews mentioning that this grip is too short, but I do not experience this issue. The grip extends about 1/4" bellow the bottom edge of my pinky. If your hands are super fat, this might be different for you. I have used this grip in a 3 gun match and it preformed well, always feeling comfortable, ergonomic, and controlling the gun. The only changes that I would make to this grip would be a storage door or a grip core ( which were probably left out for weight and cost), and it should come with a an Ergo Grip Gapper, for use with USGI trigger guards, for comfort. Item 573-000-004WB. If you plan on using this with an enhanced trigger guard, disregard the Gapper. Great grip, I highly recommend it.

As expected
I added this to a stripped lower to complete a recent project. I like the K Grip because 1- it provides a comfortable grip angle for a squared stance and 2- it is lighter than other models. I went with the base K Grip because it fits me best and I find the grip surface material resistant to grabbing garments. This is my second MOE K Grip and I bought this one because of the good experience I had with the first one (still in use).

Excellent
The grip is perfect for its intended purpose. By eliminating the beavertail, you can grip the receiver higher up, eliminating the need for the longer 4.1" K2 grip compared (compared to the K's 3.8"). I'm not sure why some people complain that the grip is too short, unless they're not holding the receiver high enough?

Is this K Grip for you?
This grip is great, for some. The K Grip is a specialized grip not for every gun, I personally like this grip, but for most people, maybe the K2 or SL grips are a better choice, if your concealing an AR pistol under your sport coat or maybe if you have small dangerous hands, then this grip is probably what you need. I have average hands and don't wear sport coats, but i shoot with a short length of pull. I put this on a 4lb-ish build due to its light weight. An upside to this grip is the ease of reaching a standard mag release button, even easier than with the A2 grip. So, this grip excels at its intended purpose, and if you've been frustrated with how your current grip digs into your ribs at work you'll probably appreciate how this little grip fits mo-betta.

All around great quality grip
This grip isn't for everyone. I bought it because I have small hands and also wanted a grip that was smaller than the traditional grips out there (for a home defense pistol build.) This fits the bill perfectly (for me.) The texture is a bit aggressive, but I'm sure will wear down with use and be just right. Just got it today, so if anything terrible happens in the next few months, will update if possible.

Yes, it is small.
First: I love this grip, but I love it's bigger K2 version more. Second: I enjoy a shorter length of pull, that this was designed for. Thirdly: It is small feeling. My hands are about 8" long, and 4" wide, the grip works and I have not had any trouble with it, others have mentioned reloading leverage trouble, I wonder what their length of pull was, that might make a difference if the hand is far out. I haven't used it on a pistol, no problems for me. If your hands are bigger than mine then I'd recommend the K2, if smaller, then maybe the K will work. (It really is small).
