Works with Magpul MOE.SL
Very pleased to find.this handguard cap to solve a.recurring problem building M4 carbines with Magpul MOE and MOE SL hand guards. The majority of handguard caps are made using 0.035" thick material. This is too thick to slip on to the Magpul hand guard front shoulder without removing quite a bit of material from the shoulder. On the MOE SL handguard, it's very difficult to remove any material due to how far the shoulder is recessed in the front of the hand guard. This cap measures around 0.030" in thickness and slips right onto the front shoulder when following Magpul's installation.directions. Saves a great deal of time when building an upper.
Necessary for Magpul M-lok hand guard
This little part is a necessary swap in order to install the Magpul handguard... if your rifle currently has the triangle type. The part is straight forward to swap out but you will definitely have to remove the factory front sight/gas block, which sounds intimidating, but really isn't a big deal. I highly recommend the Magpul M-lok hand guard with a swivel QD sling mount, as opposed to the non swivel factorysling attachment. The total cost for this little part, upgraded hand guard, QD mounts and Magpul MS1 sling is less than $100 total, which is considerably less expensive than a basic free float hand guard. I love my new setup and am looking forward to installing a light next. This little part is the key to it all.
