Very Nice
I've been unable to assemble my lower due to the current lack of appropriate retro parts, so can't comment on how well the associated bits fit it. But I can comment on the receiver itself. It is a well-built component. The finish is even inside and out. There are no burrs or other sharp edges. The only very minor blemish is a tiny mark just below where the selector switch will go. It's the only reason I didn't give it five stars.
Well made product
Finish color was right for first AR's and prototypes, but fence around mag release wasn't added until later production on the early A1's
Decent lower
Lower has good finish, everything fits and works as it should. Only discrepancy in my opinion is the anodizing. I got a grey one and there's an odd purple undertone. But that's nothing a can of alumahyde or a cerakote job can't fix.
great retro/clone option!
got this lower for my Mk12 Mod 1 clone build. this lower is clone correct, and works great. only con would be that its not as snug of a fit to the mating upper as i would like. even with that in mind, i would still recommend this lower, and i will more than likely be getting more for myself in the future, thank you brownells for carrying on the manufacturing of the A1 retro lowers with the help and blessing of NDS, i hope to see A2 lowers coming in the near future!
A1 Clone
An excellent A1 Lower. Machining is outstanding. Went together with a PSA classic LPK perfectly. However, the anodized color is not a retro grey like NoDak Spud. Color is a dark charcoal with a greenish hue. Glad Brownells is in the retro game.
Pictures misleading...
Excited to build a m16a1 clone with the A1 upper and A1 lower receiver I ordered from brownells. Upon receiving the lower, it was marked safe and semi on both sides of the lower, but did not mention that anywhere in the description nor in the pictures, kinda bummed.
