AR-15 IMPACT TRIGGER

AR-15 IMPACT TRIGGER Reviews & Ratings

Timney has been asked for an AR trigger at a lower price without compromising on quality for budget-build AR’s. You asked, Timney listened. Introducing the Impact - the next trigger in the People’s Choice Line of Excellence from the craftsmen and women of The World's Finest Trigger. Timney's engineers figured out a way to machine the parts from billet steel (no skimping with metal injection molding or stamped, old-school parts), assemble the triggers, and still hand-test this trigger by their trigger technicians at a price that you asked for - $149.99

The Impact will give you a crisp, clean, 3-pound break and will drop into all Mil-Spec AR’s. All components are captive in the lightweight, aluminum alloy housing. Hammer is wire-EDM machined from S7 tool steel that combines hardness to resist wear with superior impact resistance to withstand heavy use without chipping or breaking. Other components are EDM cut from A2 tool steel, then heat treated to Rc 56-60 for long service life.

The Brownells exclusive model offers you all the same features of the curved trigger shoe model, but with a unique tan anodized body.

Installs using your rifle’s original hammer/trigger pins, our proprietary design eliminates pin walkout. Available in curved or flat trigger bows.

The secret to long-range accuracy? It all starts with an amazing trigger and this trigger, is truly amazing. The new Impact trigger is Timney’s latest overnight success – 73 years in the making. Please Note: The Impact is not compatible with the AR-10®.

Watch Out
Installed trigger and finished my build. Went to test fire the rifle, one round one shot, second mag loaded with three rounds, one pull, bang bang, 2 shots. Third round no problem. Loaded three rounds and again, two shots. I'm reaching out to Timney.

Junk
Absolute garbage, will not reset. Have to push trigger forward with finger. Pain to install with set screws directly under hammer spring.

Awful install engineering
Love Timney triggers. Have installed many. This trigger breaks clean and is of excellent quality, as you expect from Timney. To install the trigger, you have to tighten some small set screws against the bottom of the receiver. The friction is what holds the pins in. The problem??? The hammer spring is in the way. You can get the Allen wrench in to tighten the set screws but then you have to put a set screw on top of that set screw. They drilled the holes right under the hammer spring. Getting the spring out of the way and putting the set screw can be done but it is frustrating and difficult when it does not have to be difficult. Changing this trigger out in the field would be impossible. There is no way to change this trigger out under low light, super hot conditions, wearing gloves or if you are just having a bad day. This is a bust. I will continue to buy Timney triggers, just not when the installation process is counter productive to simplicity and productivity. This aint right.
