AR-15 GAS BLOCK PICATINNY

AR-15 GAS BLOCK PICATINNY Reviews & Ratings

Steel gas block with integral Picatinny rail has extra height that lets you mount a flip up or co-witness front sight on the same plane as the receiver rail of your flattop AR-15/M16. Add a Picatinny rail handguard to have a continuous rail extending from the receiver to the gas block for superb accessory mounting flexibility. Precision machined from tough 4140 billet steel to stand up to tens of thousands of rounds without eroding. Fits .750' O.D. barrels, and locks securely to barrel with three setscrews. SPECS: 4140 steel, dark gray Parkerized finish. 1-13?16' (4.6cm) long, 1-13?16' high. Fits .750” O.D. barrels. 6.2 oz. (175g) weight.

AR15 Rail Height gasblock
So I purchased this to replace a stock A2 sight. As for the product itself, A++ item was exactly as described and the fit and feel is perfect. One of the only steel same plane gas blocks I could find, also it has 3 set screws compared to others only having 2, feels way more secure. It even has a circular little front port that reduces heat build up. I put a back up front flip up sight on it and where its mounted is right over the port so it will stay cool. Midwest Industries is great all around.
5
Heavy Duty
The one I received was very robust. The extra height made front and back sights line up perfectly. Finish was good.
4
Heavy, built like a tank, simple format
A gas block that is built to last under heavy usage. This same plane all steel gas block is ideally suited for competition/Sniper type rifles as well as for short barrelled rifles (SBR) and Personal Defence Weapons (PDW) where the extra weight at the front can be put to a good use. External format is very simple (no fancy cutouts) but highly functional. This device is a pure workhorse with a reasonable price tag. If it has an extra bottom rail for Laser installation, I will give it a 5 star rating.

Not bad!
Great fit exactly what I needed. A bit heavy, its a few grams heavier than a stick front triangle sight lol I'm not worried.

Not so great
It is large and heavy. It has three set screws. It doesn't take a standard gas tube roll pin -- it has its own size.
