gas block
Excellent product, worked flawlessly first time at range...
Excellent front sight / gas block
The YHM front sight / gas block is a great. It clamps down securely (you could add LocTite to help the bottom adhere to the barrel) and I've never had a gas leak with it. I don't beat on my guns, but they do get handled and shot a lot, and everything has been fine since the install.
Best By Far, Excellent, Durable.
I have this sight on several of my rifles. Easy to install, co-witness with my AimPoint Pro. (Also using the YHM rear BUIS) Easy operation and sight adjustment. I switch between my red dot and the BUIS often to verify zero on a regular basis. Always held true, no signs of wear, still acts like new and it has been on my rifle seems like forever. I have another on order to install on a recently assembled rifle.
Top notch
Easy to install. It will correct barrels that came with a flawed pre drilled / canted FSB or pinned FH. Well made. No functional issues.
Works great
I mounted this on an Anderson 16 inch barrel. Works great. Take your time, line everything up, you will have no problems.
Just what I wanted!
I finally decided to remove my original A2 triangle post front sight on my AR-15 after getting fed up with it taking up nearly the entire view window on my EOTech. First off, this sight/gas block is very well built. It is heavy duty and seems like it can take a beating if it had to. Installation was pretty easy, and trust me I am no gunsmith by any means of the word. It uses your stock gas tube and pin, which make it drop in ready. It is also the same height as the A2, so you can use any standard rear sight with it. I use a Magpul MBUS rear sight, and they work great together. But by far the most impressive thing about this sight is its looks. A lot of gas blocks and sights look aftermarket (i.e. out of place). I have this installed with my black MOE style carbine length hand guard, and boy, it looks mean! Not only that, but it looks like it belongs. The added rail system on the bottom make it look that much more intimidating as well. Mount a flashlight, or a laser, or even a bipod if you want. The option is there for you. I would highly recommend this sight to anyone looking to replace their original A2 front sight. It is out of the way when you don't want it, and flips up when you do.
A+ block
I used this block on a pinned barrel that prohibited normal gas block installation, set it up with a MI drop in hand guard. I have fired many hundreds of rounds and the screws are still tight (red locktite) and the rifle has not had a malfunction. The block and sight are as well made and should perform for years.
Love this thing.
Had my forged front sigh assembly removed and put this bad boy on. Love it. The release button that allows you to collapse it can be a little stubborn and install was a little complicated on my patrol rifle because I have a pinned compensator. My dept armorer installed it and had to cut the old sight assembly off but this is only an issue if your compensator is pinned.
YHM's products are solid
New AR build... Great quality and price.
great purchase
another great product from Yankee hill. looks great. easy to install and very solid. I highly doubt the screws would ever back out but just to be sure I used some loctite on them. the sight is easy to deploy and locks in place very solidly. so far its made people with a standard A2 gas block very envious.
