AR-15 FLIP-UP FOREARM FRONT SIGHT

AR-15 FLIP-UP FOREARM FRONT SIGHT Reviews & Ratings

Heavy-duty, steel construction makes these emergency front flip sights the tactical shooter’s choice for LE and military tasks requiring a compact, backup, sight system of superior strength and dependability. Deploys easily with the flick of your thumb; disengages down, out of your sight path when not in use by depressing the spring-loaded pushbutton. Extra thick, protective ears guard against blows that could potentially bend or break the sight post or aperture. Solid clamp with large crossbolt provides rock solid attachment to Weaver or Picatinny rail systems. Knurled and slotted, quick-release thumbscrew makes sight easy to install/remove. Forearm Front Flip Sight is the shortened version of the Gas Block Front Flip Sight for use on tactical handguards with accessory rails. Provides the proper sight regulation by placing the sight post approximately 1-3⁄8" above most forearm rails. All steel construction. Includes standard sight post.

SPECS: Steel, Mil-Spec phosphate coating. 1" (2.5cm) long, 1Ѕ" (3.8cm) wide, 1Ѕ" high when raised. 2.5 oz. (71 g) wt.

Good solid compact BUIS
All steel construction, I like that on a BUIS - built to last. Just like most YHM products, this one also exhibit quality, ruggedness and great price. Easy to install and use. Solid locking when in deployed position. May not accept some after market front sight post with only two detent notches due to side mounted locking plunger. Although primarily designed to be mounted on the forearm rail, I prefer my front sight BUIS to be mounted on a gas block for maximum accuracy. Some free-float forearm do not center perfectly with the bore axis of the barrel and they tend to overhang with some play (specially with heavier rifle lenght size)resulting poor accuracy. For this purpose, you will need the same plane gas block made by Midwest Industries (100-003-073WB) for .750 dia barrel or the Yankee Hill Machine railed bull barrel gas block (available from YHM) if your barrel is .936 dia. When installed, this two gas blocks will have the same height as your forearm rail.
