The Magpul CTR (Compact/Type Restricted) – Mil-Spec model is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15 / M16 carbines using Mil-Spec sized receiver extension tubes. Designed for light, fast action, the streamlined A-frame profile avoids snagging and shields the release latch to prevent accidental activation.

The CTR also features a supplemental friction lock system that minimizes excessive stock movement for enhanced weapon stability and an ambidextrous QD sling mount that will accept any push-button sling swivel. The Mil-Spec model includes a standard 0.3"" thick rubber butt-pad, which provides positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage even with body armor or modular gear.

NOTE: There are two basic sizes of M4 Carbine receiver extensions (buffer tubes): Mil-Spec and Commercial-Spec. If you have a Commercial-Spec extension on your rifle, make sure to order the Commercial-Spec CTR. Specifications based on standard-length (flat-back) M4 Carbine receiver extension and may vary depending on tube manufacturer.

Much better than the M4 milspec standard
Another great Magpul product: well thought out, affordable, durable, and good ergonomics. For my long range builds I use a PRS or PRS Lite, but for my 10.4in "truck gun" I like the way the CTR collapses and stows away. A lot lighter and better cheek-weld than the M4 buttstock.

Excellent Magpul Stock
I have several of these stocks. The reason that I purchase these stocks is the quality of the materials that make up the stock. What I like the most is, once you have adjusted the stock to your desired length of pull, there is a lever on the stock that you squeeze and the stock is locked down onto the buffer tube and this process takes out all of the wobble from the stock. There are also three different heights of cheek risers that are available, that snap onto the top of stock. B. Marr
