The patented CMR rail system is a lightweight, rugged, one piece, free float hand guard that when installed gives the upper a continuous 12 o’clock rail. The CMR system clamps to a proprietary barrel nut that can be installed on 5.56/.223 based AR platform systems. It was designed with the top 1913 rail for mounting the most common accessories, yet does away with the need for 1913 rail at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. Here other accessories can be directly mounted to it with a dedicated, simple, light-weight, mount. However it does allow for 1913 rail to be added, if needed, for some less common accessories. Additionally there are built in anti-rotation QD sling swivels in 4 positions. The main objective was to have a smaller, lighter weight, more ergonomic hand guard that maintains or enhances functionality for the end user.

This is the best one.

I have this one installed on a 16 inch barrel and it is the best. It has one of the lowest profiles. Your hand fits around it with ease and no hang ups. Very comfortable. It is very strong and very aesthetically appealing. I have 3 Geissele's 3 MI's and 2 of these. All are beyond excellent. This one is the best.

Centurion Rail

I bought this rail because I liked the Centurion Logo and thought it would look good on my Colt Lower. It shipped to me plain and not as advertised.

Not worth the price

Bottom line - this is a Midwest industries rail that is being up-sold based on the founders reputation. The attachment system does have anti-rotation tabs that are not snug on a mil-spec receiver. There is about 1/16 of play side to side. The locking tab is very thin and easily bent... I know this because I tried to used to to spread the rail to get the barrel nut out and it bent over like a coat hanger. The locking tab also has 1/16 play fore and aft. Sorry, this rail is too expensive for tech that I could get for $100 less. On the positive side, it is an attractive rail. This is the 4th product that I've purchased from Centurion, the 4th disappointment, and the last time I'm going near them again. Their products show little to no refinement or attention to detail. They do have some positive design aspects but also fail to identify and implement improvement that the rest of the industry has incorporated.
