Hands Down Best AR 15 Armorers kit
This armors kid is so useful and it literally has every single tool you were ever going to need when it comes to working on an AR 15 I have never built an AR 15 in my life when I was finally able to this is the kit I have bought recently Im doing a series on my YouTube channel with it and the ease of use is out of this world highly recommend completely worth the money
Great starter kit
This is a great starter kit, the tools appear to be good quality. As mentioned in another review, prepare to buy add-ons such as the brass/plastic hammer, punch set, inch pound torque wrench (if your OCD about torqueing like I am), breaker bar, and such. I received my kit in the mail this morning and already used in on my M&P 15 as well as 2 other officers M-4s. I am glad I had a Snap-On punch to peen some of the places I needed to because it does not come with a strong center punch either. But all in all a GREAT value and a great Christmas gift for the beginner.
Well worth the money
All the basic tools you need. Best multi tool I have seen very heavy and no flex.
Works great for my builds and mods...
I build and mod ar15's and this hit the mark for my bench...
Don't wast your time!
Armors wrench is too thick and doesn't work on my muzzle breaks. Also, it doesn't work on my Aero Precision standard barrel nut because the barrel is too big for the tools cut out. Overall really poor design. Torque wrench is too cheep to want to trust it. So without being able to use the armors wrench, and not wanting to use the torque wrench--the rest of the kit has a few things that are nice to have but not worth the price.
look for some thing else
the tools in this kit work good, but there other kits out there that are better. the mag well vise block breaks easily(first time it uses). we fixed the mag vise and us it for cleaning only now at the office. it's a 1 star item. with the tools in the it it a 2 star.look for some thing else to buy as a base.
Prepare to upgrade!
I purchased this Armorer's Kit to build three AR-15's I haven't gotten through one yet and the tools are all chewed up! The roll pin punch/detent tool are made of cheap metal and deformed easily. When trying to install the pivot pin detent, the detent was so hard and the tool metal was so soft that a groove was cut into it. I resorted to installing the detent backwards just so I could complete the build. The tools bent while trying to use them. The gas tube alignment tool was bent at the tip, so I had difficulty lining up the barrel nut. When I figured out what was going on, it did help out though. The Multi-tool is good quality and is tough. It is so tough that it chewed up my stock castle nut. The added bits could be useful, but not necessarily for an AR-15. You need an extension for the stock screw bit and torx and square head bits are for special screws that most AR's don't use. The torque wrench is pretty standard, nothing special. It locks into the Multi-tool without a lot of play and releases the tool easily. It also fits the military barrel nut wrench without problems. The upper receiver vise block was the most useful item in the kit, other than the storage bag. The lower receiver mag well block is OK, but needs to be able to be put into a vise without having to disassemble it. It felt like the vise was crushing the lower (hollow) part. Both blocks slid around in my vise. I didn't even use the pivot pin locking mechanism thing (adjustable receiver link). Unless it has some hidden mystical power, it is unnecessary for most things you would do with an AR-15. For only one build/maintenance, this may work for you. For serious usage, consider upgrading the pivot pin/roll pin installation tools and use a 3/16" bar or allen wrench as a gas tube alignment tool
