AFRX stock
Solid design and build. The design is light but provides a solid stock with no movement. Dont forget to lube the buffer tube befire starting to install the foam cover. Easy install, the stock gives you a great check rest tgats comfortable and is perfect for the shooter with a big head and a sight that is low.
Great Product...However
This product is great. Once you realize you can't just put it on your AR like any other part. It does say in the description A2 buffer tube. I didn't know that was different from a regular buffer tube. This point cannot be stressed enough. This stock needs a A2 BUFFER TUBE! Most AR rifles do not have an A2 buffer tube. You will need to buy one before this can be installed. Also you will need an air compressor to get the pad on and even that takes twenty minutes.
Just the ticket
This is a well-made product with tight tolerances. Just follow the instructions and make sure everything is aligned before tightening. If you don't have a compressor, use a bit of dish-soapy water to slide the pad on the tube. When the soap dries it will be tight; if you use oil or WD40 the pad will always spin on the tube.Use the short screw to seat the frame, then remove it and use the long screw to mount the the butt pad. The result will be a tight mount with zero flex or rattle. While the length of pull is only 1/2 longer than my collapsible stock, it feels very different (better) and mounts quicker (I shoot an Aimpoint PRO).
Good for 3GUN
Stock is simple, lightweight and durable. I have been using for 2 years now on my 3GUN rifle with no issues. The length of Pull can be a bit long, I removed the Rubber Pad and run skateboard tape on the Aluminum butt, my optic doesn't have long eye relief so this was necessary, Still a great stock and I would recommend.
Perfect
Great fit and for the price, its the best stock out there.
Exceptional value
I bought this to replace the standard A2 style fixed stock on my AR. Even though my AR is a carbine, I dislike collapsible style carbine stocks. I much prefer a fixed stock. Installation is extremely simple, and only took a couple of minutes. Provided you follow the advice to oil the foam collar before installing. Everything fit perfectly. Once installed, it is not only attractive, but it's rock solid. And I really like the thick, soft rubber butt pad. Outstanding product and well worth the money.
Good product
Havent blown a lot of rounds through it yet, but it apears pretty sturdy. When you buy this you will need all the buffer assembly parts except the stock screw, and the extension spacer.
Rock Solid
This is a great stock! I used it on a recent build and it was awesome. The other reviews are correct about lubricating the buffer tube - and it says so in the instructions. I did order a new buttstock screw from Brownells just in case and it was just what I needed. The comment about the cross threading I feel is a little off - as long as you properly align everything, it's a quick and easy install. Of note, this stock is incredibly light weight. Should you be using a heavy barrel or weighty forend, expect to have a front-heavy weapon. Good for rapid fire as it helps muzzle climb, but not so good for some precision shots. Overall - you can't beat this stock!
Solid stcok
This stock really does what it should. It is solid, light, and the foam tube is comfortable. It also includes a single point sling adapter.
A perfect fixed stock for an AR platform
I am a patrol rifle instructor and build rifles for our Department operators. I have never liked adjustable stocks and have never found a collasable that has acceptable "flex." I have used A-2 style stocks since I first qualified with the A-2 in the USMC in 1984. But the weight of the A-2 stock was excessive for a patrol rifle application. The AFRX is a perfect solution. It fits excellently, and installs in minutes. I like the rubber but pad and the closed cell foam cheek piece. It seems strong and durable. The sling attachment points worked well with an Intrepid 3-point sling.
