Good To Go
Using this part to complete my M16A1 Million Dollar Extreme Dream Gun. Mine had no rust on it at all so I am giving it 5 stars to bump up the rating. Based on the photo in the description, I was kinda worried it might be square like an A2, but fear not - it is the round variety needed to complete an A1 retro build.
Post seems to be used.
We have received several of these kits. It seems half of front sight posts are rusty when we receive them. There was visible wear on some which leads us to think they came out of mil surplus.
Mixed junk included!
Purchased 10 sets. 6 were good, 2 were OK, 2 were total garbage - rusted pitted completely useless.
Gray and glossy
The post has an uneven medium-gray finish and is fairly shiny. The front sight post on an AR needs to have matte black finish. If I was to bother installing it, which I won't, I wouldn't count on much accuracy with iron sights.
