Great storage option
Great for storing Ammo or Magazines. Seems sturdy and seals well with the oring in the lid. Gets heavy fast with ammo. I got both the tall and shorter versions. Both seem excellent.
Great product for storing ammo
Great product! Just what I needed to keep my ammo dry and organized. Each one of these can easily store 1,000 rounds of .308/7.62 NATO or 2,000 rounds of .223/5.56 NATO. I'm going to get more of these to store and organize all of my other calibers.
Worth every penny
Holds generous amount of rounds and is much more cost efficient than metal cans in volume. With just one 50 cal can costing roughly $10+ dollars, the total volume of the MTM can equal roughly 3 50 cal cans. These are great for storage you know isn't going to be moved around. I store my range ammo in here and transfer the ammo to smaller 30 or 50 cal cans to bring to the range. Also use it for tool storage. Way better than the 50 cal mtm plastic cans that have the handle on the lid; that allows the lid to flex open and introduce air/moisture if the can is too heavy. The handle on the crate is on the box itself and not the lid, so no flexing!
Spacious and big
Huge storage space, enough for a day at the range and then some. Likely will be a two person lift when fully loaded to capacity. Rubber gasket to keep it dry and lockable makes it great for storage of ammo.
I love them!
Buy some! They are well made. You won't be disappointed. I found the tall crates will hold 60 boxes of UMC 20 round boxes of .223 green/white box with no problem. I also like to store AR magazines in one and AK-47 magazines in another. You can store a lot of mags in each one. My two pieces of advice are 1) Buy some of each.(like 2 short and 2 tall) You WILL find something to store in them 2) If you order a lot of them keep track of your numbers so your wife isn't home whilst all of them are delivered.
Simple, light-weight, and effective
These crates are lightweight and nearly 100% air tight and moisture resistant. There is a rubber seal that prevents air/moisture from entering the case and accelerating oxidation of the interior components. It is PLASTIC, though, and not as rugged as a surplus military ammo can. The price is justified and the amount of ammo and other materials I prefer to keep free of oxidation and moisture are better protected in one of the cases than a regular plastic bin. The stack-ability is also very convenient though I fear for the bottom crate over time after piling five of these on top of each other (filled with ammo).
