Fixed my p80 trigger issues
So I tried everything from polishing to lightly grinding the trigger pieces that came with my frame completion kit for the p80 and nothing worked.. purchased this unit from Apex, did a the slight polishing, dropped it in and all of the trigger sticking issues that I had are gone.. in my mind they really thought about the issues plaguing glock triggers and not only got the geometry but the action right.
Great product
I had no issues with installing this item . Im glock certified , and i knew exactly what to do . This item deserves 5 stars across the board. It takes a little time for install , no fitting was required , it works perfectly.
Blue one slightly different than purple
I purchased a blue one and a purple one. The Purple one was exactly as pictured so I figured the Blue one would be the same but it was a little different. It was neither good nor bad though, the safety part in the middle of the trigger was much wider on the Blue one. Functionally it was virtually identical to the purple one. At first it felt like the safety would stick, but working it a bit before install cleared it up. I installed it with a Ghost Rocket 3.5 Trigger Connector that really improves the feel of the trigger pull and break. It also removes overtravel on the trigger pull making for a nice short reset between rounds. The Blue one also seemed to have more of an even pressure on the first pull. It was more firm all the way to break versus the purple one which had a light pull then firmed up right before the break so you could tell easier where the break was going to be. My personal preference is for the Purple one with the narrower safety, but the Blue looks really nice.
Works great with Ghost Rocket 3.5
I love the feel of this trigger versus the Stock trigger. The finish on the stamped parts were very smooth and the action was much better than stock. The Ghost Rocket 3.5 Trigger Connector works perfectly. The reduced overtravel is great, and this trigger has a very light feel until you reach the point where the trigger will snap cleanly to fire. Everyone that has fired it wants one just like it. Looks like I will be busy helping a few friends!
I own four!
I bought one, polished it with Flitz and a dremel, installed in my G19 (gen 4) with a Ghost 3.5lbs connector and went to the range. My finger felt so much better after 500 rounds and my accuracy was the best it has ever been. I purchased three more for every Glock I own. I can not shoot a factory Glock trigger anymore. These are worth their weight in gold.
Very Nice
I had no problems with the safety and tried to duplicate the problems of others and could not. Trigger has a very nice feel, take up is smooth and travel is less. Expensive but worth it for me as I hated the serrated trigger.
you won't be disappointed
One issue I have had with my Glocks compared to my other pistols is the amount of free trigger and trigger reset.I have already stoned all my trigger components so I had a constant trigger break already. I knew the Apex trigger would be waiting when I got home from work. So I garbed the package kissed my my wife and headed to the bench as soon as I walked in the door. God bless Glock, in less than five minutes I was done with the swap. There at the bench I could already feel the improvement in the free trigger and trigger rest. But the next day at the range it was like shooting a different gun. I have recommended the Apex trigger all my Glock owning friends. For the money and the time, you won't be disappointed.
Nice
I installed the trigger in my Glock 19 gen 4. I already had a aftermarket trigger disconnect. So, after the install I took out my 17 with OEM trigger, but aftermarket disconnect. On my 17 my finger wanted to wrap around the trigger, But my Apex trigger, my finger naturally wanted to stay on the pad of my finger. So I did a trigger pull on the 19 to see what the weight was. After 4 pulls, the weight came in under 4lbs (3.75 average) But I did give the trigger bar a good polishing. I like the Apex trigger. Gonna get the Red Apex for the 17.
It's ok
Pros - Very Easy to install - Much for comfortable than the stock trigger - Reduced take up - Do not have the safety issue mentioned in another review. (I would question of it was installed properly) Con - Did not resolve the main reason I upgraded my Glock trigger (Spongy Break) I have been a long time M&P shooter and APEX did a fantastic job with their M&P trigger kit. I have installed them in my Full Size and Shield which is my summer time EDC pistol . I decided to move to a Glock 19 for fall/winter/spring EDC for added capacity and went with APEX tigger due to my past experience. The trigger itself feels nice on the finger and is much more comfortable than the stock trigger. (Any Glock shooter that has shot over 300 rounds in a single session knows the stock trigger leaves your finger a bit raw) The take up is reduced as well which is not such a big deal to me. What I was really hoping for was a crisp break which I did not get. The APEX trigger is still spongy which is disappointing and the main reason I upgraded from the stock trigger. I did opt to purchase the ULTIMATE SAFETY PLUNGER as recommended by APEX which I did test with and without. The plunger does make a difference and smoothed out the take up compared to the stock plunger. So if you are looking to get a more comfortable trigger and/or reduce take up this is a great option. If you are looking to crisp up the break I would suggest looking at other offerings out there.
Get the Dremel Ready
The short version of a long story. I installed this in about a dozen different gen 3 pistols with existing polished trigger bars and 3.5 lb ghost connectors. Every pistol produced the same unimpressive result and I actually think it made the trigger pulls worse. I attacked the trigger bar with the Dremel and a little polish. Now it's as good as it was before. Not sure I noticed any significant difference in the pre or over travel. However, the trigger pad does feel better than the stock ridged trigger of the Glock 19 or Glock 26.
