The best optic I own hands down.
Absolutely reliable and high end piece of equipment. I used this in Afghanistan under hard use. Never lost zero, never failed. Have the same one here at home and have the same results.
Great Scope
I mounted this on an Smith M&P Ar15 with no problem! Could not ask for a more CLEAR scope. Does everything it says,I did very little in having to adjust for zeroing in the scope worth every penny. The only thing I would change is the reticle I wish it was a little larger, but Im getting used to it.
Some TA01NSNs have green illumination
The build quality and feel of this scope is amazing. All of the things you typically read about this model, like clear optics, precision and durability, are all true. Even the padded case it comes in is incredible, and certainly isn't cheap as packaging goes. The only thing to be aware of is that some TA01NSN units actually come with GREEN illumination, not the amber/yellow that everyone (including Trijicon themselves) says is the only available color. At first, I was alarmed when I found that mine had green illumination, after reading about counterfeit copies turning up recently. But I called Trijicon, and they were happy to help me authenticate mine. They didn't give me any specifics, but said that some units with green illumination were made and you might get one. I don't know how many are out there. Personally, I like the green illumination a lot more than the amber. Very happy with this scope!
The Choice for Rough and Tumble
Excellent, VERY rugged scope. 4x magnification is the ideal choice for an AR carbine, in my opinion. This power range will give you plenty of visual accuracy to about 300yds and "minute of deer" accuracy beyond the usable power range of the 5.56x45 NATO's ballistic capabilities. Optics are sharp with a well-thought and easy to read reticle. Backup sights are a must, especially if you want to have a "zero magnification option" to work in conjunction with the 4x scope. These attached iron sights are good as long as you bear the following in mind: lack of fine adjustment and pistol-length separation between front and rear means pistol-length accuracy; backup sights are intended for backup TO THE SCOPE and these are attached to the scope (ie, if the scope or mount gets broken/shot off the gun, your BUIS just went with it); finally, you'll have to break cheek weld with the stock in order to raise up and access these BUIS sights (again, making it shoot more like a pistol than a rifle). Having made those statements, these BUIS's are SIMPLE and that always beats complicated. Frankly, I'd still have some folding rail mounted BUIS irons (or, better, 45 degree mounted irons) that can be used in the absence of the scope. Finally, spend an extra $30 and get the Killflash!
Price of quality
I use this for low light/day time shoots, it functions great, the reticle isn't too bright to affect your ability to see in low light conditions, to sum it all up it is an extremely well designed optic and well worth the money!
ACOG M4A1 4x32 SF Model
I brought this model to Afghanistan and it performed without a flaw. It was subjected to hard use under some extreme conditions. The tritium peep sight on top works great for quick target aquistion under low light/dark conditions. Very good sight to compliment your system and I'm sure I will get years more use out of it.
