Excellent tool, but difficult to use on a pistol with an optic already mounted if not impossible.

This is a great tool that was copied by wheeler, or visa versa. Look at wheeler's and see for yourself. Only difference is the screw handle. Brownells has the best price that I found.
Slick tool for your handgun sight needs.
Worked super smooth for removing stock sights and installing some night sights on my Sig P245. Some things to note... 1: Use some masking tape to protect the finish of your slide. 2: Be sure you know which direction your sights install from (P-Series seems to be right-to-left removal, and left-to-right install, as viewed from the rear of the slide). 3: A couple drops of penetrating oil makes removal of old sights a breeze.
Quality tool
All I needed was a tool for my Glocks, but I got this one as it will work with my 1911's as well and for not much more than the Glock specific tools. Plus, it's a Lyman with its reputation for quality. I have found it to be a well made sturdy tool. I'm a competitive shooter who also carries daily and I want to be able to change sights more than once in a lifetime. I recommend this tool.
Solid American made tool
The tool is solid and works as described. All adjustments worked well. I had originally tried to use a punch and hammer but managed only to mar the rear sight. I bought this tool and made the upgrade task without further problems. The tool could be improved only by padding the handle. These sights were tight and took some serious torque to get off. I used a shop towel to make it easier on my hand. I still give it 5 stars based on quality and value.
Excellent design and works well
I purchased this to install night sights on an auto equipped with Novak sights. It was good that I did, as the originals were very hard to remove. This tool removed and replaced the sights with no marks or damage, although I had to use a socket/breaker bar on the lead screw shaft hex to break the original front sight loose. I guess the factory used hydraulics to install it. I have zero complaints. Often, tools don't do as well as advertised, but this works much better than I would have guessed. Very well made, excellent design, and a great value. Add that it is by an old-line US company and made here, with is all the better. Great work Lyman.
Good but lacking
Pulls great left to right. Once you attempt to push the other way the bolt loosens up. Englarged handle pretty useless to break sights loose. will need to use socket or wrench. Not super impressed. Would not buy again.
