Much better than the old style plastic dummies
Much better than the old style plastic dummies in that add weight to weapon and the firing pin is well protected with the soft rubber caps. I use when teaching folks how to load, unload, aim, trigger pull, all of the things you want to teach and test without having live ammo in the room.

Carlson's Snap Caps
Quality product. Everyone should have them to practice loading magazines and for dry-fire practice.

Skip A-Zooms, buy these instead
I bought two ten pack A-Zooms in 9mm and .40cal; the .40's were fine but several of the 9mm had protruding primer pads that would case the dummy rounds not to cycle properly or the slide to go into battery. I have no idea how QC missed those. Bought two packs (because these only come five to a pack) and they function flawlessly. Unlike A-Zooms these have a spring loaded primer and are spec'ed to SAAMI; I've read other reviews that A-Zooms may be undersized (understandable seeing as their QC missed trimming 7 of 10 of the ones I bought). Skip A-Zooms, buy these instead.
Just what I needed
I am working towards becoming a gunsmith these were needed to function test a p80 they worked great. I will be using them to teach my family in the future. I like the fact that they are metal they seem more durable than others I researched.
practice loading and unloading
My wife used these to learn to efficiently load and unload a new 9mm hand gun. She ultimately didn't like that particular gun and purchased a new and different one. She same Snap Caps are now being used with her new gun. She is quickly developing the comfort and confidence to safely handle her hand gun. Great product.
Great for training
We use these as training aids for the family. The wife and kids all know how to properly load, unload, handle, un-foul, and shoot our firearms using Snap Caps. Because these are metal, they feel like a real bullet and are much nicer than the orange, plastic trainers that eventually chip and cause jams. They also have a spring loaded primer that simulates a real primer that shouldn't damage your firing pin.
Carlson 9mm Snap caps
These did not cycle very well in my CZ 75 SP01 Tactical. Reviews said they were better than others but not in my experience.
