The 20 gauge edition of Mossberg's popular 590 Shockwave pump shotgun sports a 14" barrel and a unique "bird's head" pistol grip instead of a full buttstock, making it extremely compact and highly maneuverable - ideal for a home-defense shotgun. Chambered for the lighter-recoiling 20 gauge shell, this Shockwave is even easier to control than the original. The Mossberg 590 Shockwave's short barrel and short overall length of only of 26-1/2" make it easy to operate in tight spaces, while still packing five 20 gauge rounds in the mag tube. The Raptor® bird’s head pistol grip and Cob-style forearm (with nylon strap keep your hand in place) give you excellent control and help reduce felt recoil.

Love the gun and the buying experience

I love the way this gun feels and shoots. But I will buy a laser pointer and a butt stock for it because aiming is difficult even for a close range firearm. The buying experience was easy and fast!

Fun Gun, get it.....

Great gun, used 7 birdshot and #2 buckshot. Not terrible for kick back. Easy to shoot from hip. Mounted a big dot sight after purchase. Great fun, and should be great for home defense.

Mossberg Hits a Home Run

Mossberg excellence has created a fantastic home defense solution when they made the "Shockwave". Crimson Trace added the much needed edge with the LS-250 "Saddle" to make this firearm function the way it was intended. I was hesitant to purchase the 20 guage version because the Crimson Trace information I read for the 20 guage Shockwave was not out there. I'm writing this review to let everyone know that the Crimson Trace Saddle (LS-250) fits and functions perfectly. I usually don't rate anything 5 stars because there is always something that you find out after using a product. The Mossberg 20 guage Shockwave with a Crimson Trace Saddle is just perfect for what our family needed to train with. Thank-you Brownells for having both of these products at a reasonable price.
