Amazed by this TruGlo Dual-Color Sight!!
I ordered this red/green dot scope for my AR looking for something that could hold zero, and be accurate at 50 yards or less for plinking. This TruGlo 2 color dot sight completely blew my socks off! Out of the box it took around 3 minutes to mount on the AR's top Picatinny Rail, and around another 5 minutes to sight it in to 50 yards using a laser bore sighter! It held its zero through 150 rounds at 25-50 yards, and subsequent firings have required minimal adjustment!! The green dot is very useful in low light conditions, and although the dots are large and very bright, dimming the sight intensity with the control knob to desired brightness has worked for me every time!!! There isn't another red dot as good as this Tru-Glo for the money!!
Great bang for your buck!
I love this thing, it replace an old pentax red dot sight I had on my AR-22lr and works way better. Holds zero great. I think for the amount of money you spend this is an amazing product for shooting.
A Red Dot that does not break the bank
I have this mounted on a Ruger MKIII and could not be happier. I bought another to put on another gun. Sighted it in within 5 minutes and have been having a good experience with it ever since. It's well made to. If you want a red dot that works well and does not break the bank go for it. I use it out to 50yds with no problems on 6-8 power depending on the day.
Good But Not great
This is a good Plinker Optic, I used it initially on my Home built AR-15, however it wouldn't keep my zero at 100yds a min. zero for a .556 Nato round. However I changed to a different gun my S&W 22LR pistol. It has been a great addition to this gun except for its weight. The optic has worked well and has continued to work after 200+ .556 rounds and thousands of 22LR's. It has consumed 3 batteries over 4 years. which is pretty good. If you want a good optic for a AR platform go Aimpoint or Eotech if this is for just a small Plinker gun it will be Great.
it's not bad
I use it on my AR15 to plink. Doesn't lose zero, which is fortunate because for me it's a bit of a pain since it's not a click while turning knob. the red dot is bright, but for something further than 50 yards I do wish the dot was a tad smaller. Variable brightness and the adjustment knob can be tensioned to make it really easy or rather difficult to change the settings. Mounting it is a pain; the screws are metal, the side with the heads of the screws (side shown) are metal, but on the other side they're individual plastic rail grippers and they are a bit flimsy and a bigger pain to take the device on and off a rail than they should be! Mounts low, so you might need a spacer to bring it up to eye/cowitness level on flattop AR's. Does not have any bells or whistles, but for the price it's okay. If you just need a cheap red dot to plink or to have some fun, it's okay. It routinely cycles from my AR15 to a cheap airsoft sight when I indulge, and at the price, if an airsoft pellet breaks it, I'm not out hundreds of dollars. tl;dr: good to start out with, and can be a workhorse for light duty, but if you need weatherproof or anything other than a red dot for plinking or airsoft, then something a little more rugged is for you.
Made in china
Typical chinese made red dot. Both green and red dot are "star burst" and not clear. Do yourself a favor, spend the money and buy a Trijicon MRO
