308 AR GEN 3 AMBIDEXTROUS CHARGING HANDLE Reviews & Ratings
fit to Aero Precision M5 308 upper
I bought this Badger Ordnance 7.62 ambi charging handle to use with my Aero Precision 308 M5 upper. There's some interference between the bottom "recess" edges on the charging handle, and the shaped slightly-angled profile at the top-back of the AP M5 upper. Had to do some careful hand-filing on the charging handle to get nice clean fit. It wasn't too difficult, but wasn't expecting that. On the other hand, I also have a DPMS LR-308 upper, and this Badger Ordnance ambi CH fit that one straight out of the box as is, no problem. I like this charging handle, the rounded edges are smooth, with subtle serrations, spring tension on the paddles is just right, and it's not a blatant "race-gun" type of part. It doesn't really stand out as an after-market souped-up part. The matte black anodizing matches the finish of the upper receiver.
Too narrow for ap m5
It didnt fit in my aero precision m5 upper. After reading the first 2 reviews I bought a $4 file and filed the bottom part of charging handle. It seems to work now. Im excited to fire my first 308 build at the range.
Minor fitting required
I should've read the other review about the charging handle. Bought this one to fit my AeroPrecision M5 Upper build and like the other person before me I had to do some minor filing to the bottom end (too narrow) of the handle. Once fitted it works great.
